Nyania is at war! The fragile peace holding together the realm of cat lords has been broken. Which kitty kingdom will prevail?
About this project
My name is Daniel de Sosa I'm a 26 year old cartoonist from the San Fernando Valley in California. I'm the creator of Oi! Tales of Bardic Fury, and co-founder of Backwards Burd Comics.I'm excited to bring to kickstarter my latest book A Song of Mice and Fur.
A Song of Mice and Fur is an absurdist fantasy story set in the realm of Nyania where kitty lords and canine rulers lord over the rodent peasantry. After a surprise Meowgol attack, the fragile peace between the kingdoms of Nyania is broken, and the land descends in to chaos. Red panda mercenaries, authoritarian cats, a sad fat pug and many more all fight tooth, nail and claw to come out on top!
I am aiming to create one of the most epic cat comics ever made.
This story is influenced by my love of history, epic fantasy literature and real time strategy games. The book uses a mix of gag strips and long form plot driven comics to tell the story.
A Song of Mice and Fur is the third book in the Kitty Jenkins series. Kitty Jenkins is a mystical three-eyed cosmic cat who pops in to people's lives and sends them on magic spirit journeys that they don't want to go on. In the end, they learn nothing. The first Kitty Jenkins book, F*ck You Kitty Jenkins was full of comedy gag strips where Jenkins popped in to random peoples lives and sent them on magic journeys. The second book Purrvana was a sci-fi based around Kitty Jenkins screwing with planets and the universe. You can read a review of it here.
And you can read some old Kitty Jenkins comics for FREE online here.
A Song of Mice and Fur is an epic fantasy story told with dogs, cats and mice. I want each KJ book to be a different genre from the previous one, and work as a standalone story. You don't need to have read the previous Kitty Jenkins books to enjoy this comic, but if you have, you might see a few easter eggs.
Most importantly of all, I am aiming to create a fun to read fantasy cat comic full of cool characters like Sad Fatters, and as many cheesy animal puns as possible.
I am looking to raise enough money to create a small initial print run of books which I can take to comic cons. I write, draw, color and letter all of my books, and I love doing it, but it takes a lot of time. I use kickstarter because it allows me the opportunity to get my weird comics out in to the world! If you like this project, I would greatly appreciate your pledge to help make the dream of A Song of Mice and Fur in to a reality!

Risks and challenges
Once the book is sent to production, there may be delays with the printer that cannot be predicted. I have worked with this printer many times before and so far they have only ever delivered great work in a timely manner.
I have been working as a cartoonist for three years and know how to make comics. I also have experience running several kickstarter campaigns and I am confident to say that I have the routine down by now.
