I'm interested in mathematics and since I stopped dating (wasting time on okc/tinder ugh) I've made great progress. A small part of me still wants a partner with which I could intellectually grow together. I have a career path that uses mathematics (functional programmer/data scientist) and that is great reinforcement to what I study outside of work. Reading posts here is great because it helps me quiet the thoughts that pop up about dating/hooking up and saves me a shit load of time. I'm gradually becoming recognized in my field and will start attracting attention of others through things like speaking and leading educational meetups, so there is a chance I encounter a women that way.
Seems ok, and like something I should be open to. I'm not going pursue but if work leads to collaboration/friendship and then drinking (ha) leads to something else, I should be open to it? Don't shit where you eat comes to mind as well, also sexual harassment is something to be careful about. I've hooked up with girls who the next morning don't remember having sex, that is scary as fuck. Any experiences in this area? Asking for a friend ;)
