User doubts they are Native American.

So these entitled "Native Americans" (just like Elizabeth Warren, amirite?) want to stop a pipeline that would create over 12,000 jobs, and we're supposed to think of them as "heroes"?

User believes pipeline will help us compete with Russia.

Another way to look at it is that OPEC and Russia have a stranglehold on world oil reserves and unlocking more domestic sources will boost the fortunes of all Americans who pay for petroleum products (which is all taypaying Americans).

Oil doesn't leak

Do people really not understand how pipelines WORK? They are solid and encased not perforated with holes. Oil doesn't wash through the ground. They are one of the safest and efficient ways to transport liquid and gas products.

Why are people making such a big deal out of this?

It's good they were all able to get time off from there jobs at the same time. There are thousands of pipelines in the country, and contaminated water is pretty rare in the US outside of places like Flint MI. The concerns of these people are absolutely blown out of proportion.
