    There is no way to contact google. I had a friend whose account was being hijacked and the hijacker was threating to swat him, etc, he was on the line with the FBI and local police. Nobody could reach Google. When he contacted their customer service for their paid services (which he had) they just shut off his paid services and ignored all of his calls after that.

    It's a catch 22. Twitter "hacks" mostly involve scammers social engineering their way through Twitter customer service. They call in claiming to be an auditor, the owner of the account, whatever and eventually that CS rep with information at their fingertips will leak some information. They take that info and call, and call, and call and eventually have all the account holders info. Then they just call up saying they're locked out of their account and wham they have all the identifying information.

    Security is only as good as the weakest link. Google shored up their security by removing the minimum wage customer service flunkies but created a service nightmare with their absence.

    I, too, had one in my spam folder (although only one, others are coming to inbox normally).

    I checked, and the message is: DKIM Signed, SPF Passed, and completely valid headers throughout. That means they spam-foldered it based on content/keywords.

    (DKIM = digital signature... usually spammers don't have valid dkim. SPF = similar to DKIM, and again, spammers don't usually bother doing this properly.)

    You can switch over your Contacts, Calendar, Notes, and of course Emails to FastMail. They have dozens of domains to choose from and you can also run your custom domain. Google is completely cut out of the important shit except for the Play store, which can be mitigated by using F-droid market or turning off your Google account syncs

    I signed up with both gmail and live mail just to see which emails they are filtering. Unfortunately, I don't think it's anything nefarious on gmail's part, rather, CTR flags the fuck out of every trump email as spam and it creates a internal rule that affects other user's accounts as well.

    Trying to bring some sanity to this, because I'm pretty familiar with how email works. Email will only be sent to the spam folder if enough people have reported it as spam and/or the domain is on an email blacklist. Which it is:

    The website administrators need to contact the maintainers of the blacklists to have them removed.

    No it's not a conspiracy, and no, Clinton's website isn't on a blacklist. Clinton's email servers are using google apps, and Trump's are using Office365. Draw your own conclusions from that, but you won't get added to a blacklist for being on a reputable email provider, no matter who it is.

    Playing devils advocate: maybe if outlook does it too and some others that there's something about the algorithm that thinks its just an unsolicited appeal for donations or unsolicited message that it puts it in spam. I know a lot of these "spam traps" build their 'intelligence' based on patterns it learns from what you tell it is spam and perhaps from the habits of other people.     Issue is that's no other massive email providers that handle and prevent most of the stuff Google does.

    Sure you could setup your own personal mail server which sucks, or you can try the competition but those also lack features. Not to mention all android mobile games which need you to connect use Google auth for your accounts now.

    Then again I they got rid of Google Doodles for most countries which had a conservative theme or event to them.

    Gmail learns in part from users.

    If enough users mark emails from a certain address as spam then it applies it to the whole system.

    Mark them as not spam if you want them to go to your in box and the change will be applied to your account.

    Let's not jump the gun here, can someone click the little down arrow beside reply (top right), select "Show Original" and paste the lines about DKIM and SPF. This could likely be Trump team not configuring those correctly.

    It's a content keyword, since the headers are all legit and pass the tests.

    Doesn't mean anything, each provider has their own thresholds for marking items as spam. Can someone paste those lines from "Show Original" then we know for sure. I've personally dealt with this problem before for large mailing lists.
