I laughed so hard when I read this.

I encountered this in varying degrees across many Mucks. When I told people my char was a villain I would keep running into all these people who would meta game and instantly ic hate him and be rude to him before he even did anything...in a setting where the population were basically neutral good.

So I stopped oocly telling people what alignment my chars were and decided to let their actions speak cor themselves. I would have them do evil things and players around them would find ways to justify it. There was one time a players alt icly hated my bandit character. They were rivals, he was a good guy and my alt has the tendency to flip flop on which side he helps. And I may have tried to blow him up once...I forget. This rivalry appearently insulted another player oocly :p

And, before this post gets too long, I remember one time in a multi species setting where species A was naturally evil and species B wasnt I decided to make a villain crom species B. He was a warlord who was trying to 'purge' the land of species A. I through him at the heroes as a villain...they ended up joining him.

Not much, actually. Lots of bickering and shipping.
