I learned that prenups can be torn up in the court for various stupid reasons; unfair; the party was "under duress" when they signed it, etc.

For now, there is no insurance for a man if he chooses to marry. The simple advice you said is the best advice; do not get married; do not live with a women (if you live in a place where "common law" relationships exist).

They are better than nothing, but not much better. I only personally know one guy who had one and it was invalidated by the court. If the spouse felt pressured, or failed to read what they were signing, it can be invalidated. Either one of those scenarios are extremely easy to lie about.

Just tell your guy friends to not get married. If they ask why tell them 50% of marriages end in divorce of which 70% are initiated by women. If they can't understand the risk there isn't much more you can do for them.
