I'm pretty sure /r/shittyreactiongifs does this intentionally ironically. If I recall correctly the banner used to be a bunch of photos of Gorillas (Harambe specifically maybe?) and then in the centre was a photo of a black actress, though I can't remember her name. It's really not an SJW takeover and more just the sub becoming /r/circlejerk for irony (regardless of if that's funny or not).

They've been doing this shit for months though with different 'themes'. It's a joke. Like a genuine one.

(One of the mods is literally /u/NigWantsKFC, it's a circlejerk joke).

it has become what they are trying to satire, i dont believe poe's law is the correct word for this but its something like it. they can say "its a joke its a joke" all they want but at the end of the day they are a shitty sub full of shitty mods pushing an opinion on a highly controversial topic and banning anyone who disagrees

I'm not saying that it isn't still a shitty sub for their changes, I'm just saying that this title is extremely misleading and everyone in the comments in this thread seems incredibly oblivious for even believing that the BLM thing isn't a joke on /r/shittyreactiongifs. Also I don't even think anyone has been banned.

So no I guess I don't know that will happen.

I don't believe them when they say that. It's just the kind of SRS plays--obviously doing something, and then trying to trick people into believing that it's just an ironic joke. That is literally how SRS acted at the start of things.

And the mod team of that sub has played this same exact 'we're-just-pretending-to-be-SJWs' joke on several subs, including /r/Imgoingtohellforthis. So I don't believe that it's just a joke. I think they're pushing their honestly-held opinion and claiming it's a joke to avoid a larger backlash. Otherwise, they'd be playing different jokes on different subs. But they aren't. They're playing the same joke on every sub.
