Mata and Ibrahimovic (self.reddevils)

Hey, I have a question. Since so many people believe that Mata should be playing as a number 10 in the side, do you guys think he will work well with Ibrahimovic? Zlatan likes to drop deeper a lot, is Mata capable of running behind him?

Mkhitaryan should have a free rain number 10 spot and Jessie Lingard should play right wing. Mata and Rooney bench.

I think this is what most people would like. If mikhi was injured mata would be my second choice. Mata would play the role different however both have good spacial awareness in regards to knowing how to play with a 9. Although he isn't my first choice at 10 let's not forget mata was Chelsea's player of the year twice at 10. There have been many times in these first few games where Rooney and ibra have been in the same position getting in each other's way. I don't think it will work with them two in the long run.

Sounds good on paper but Rooney inspite of criticism is still putting up numbers and he has a mentality you want out on the pitch. Mhki goes in on the wing or if he's still out from the knock he took, throw on Mata for 70' and Jesse for the rest. That directness and legs for pressing in the end will help tremendously.

A few times in games it has been Mata who moved against the last man when Zlatan dropped deep, clearly under instruction from Mou. So why not.

Is he effective there is another question.

I think Zlatan-Mata 1-2's two get Mata through on goal would be amazing. Mata has exceptional movement and that agility/burst of pace that gets him in those positions where he'd be 1v1. Zlatan also has the vision and ability obviously to pick him out. It's kind of like watching David Silva in the box
