Should Smalling start for the derby? (self.reddevils)

I miss our Smalldini, he was so good consistently last season despite a bump in form at the end, mainly due to fatigue. Blind and Bailly are both good but I prefer Bailly and Smalling for next match.

I think Iheanacho starting will make it easier on Blind. If it was Aguero I'd be more worried. Iheanacho is promising but he's essentially all physical and very inexperienced, I'd trust Blind to out-think him. Not to mention Bailly will out-run, out-jump and out-muscle him if needed.

As much as I think Smaling should take his place back soon, I'm inclined to start with Blind in the derby.

Heard a lot of City fans saying he's going to start Nolito up top and shift De Bruyne/start Sane on the wing. Thing is that all of Citys attackers are quite slight and pacey, Smalling would bully them and his speed would be important, City could hurt us on the counter without it. I'd personally like to see Smalling and Bailly start.

Stick with Blind. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think he isn't up for it

If Shaw misses the misses the match then maybe Blind can start at LB and Mike can pair up with Bailly,otherwise i see no reason why Smalling should start over Blind.
