I wrote this opinion two weeks ago. I Repost it here because i think it suit for the topic :

If I may offer my opinion, I think Mou prefer Fellaini more than other CDM (not CM so Pogba excluded) such as Schneiderlin or Carrick.

Do you know when I'm sure Mou prefer Feilaini than Schneiderlin or Carrick? At bournmouth game. Not because he played so well but because Mou doesn't drop him after that backpass to Vardy before.

Argument about he played because we need height appeared at that time and yet Mou still play him with another tall player, Pogba at southampton game. So I think Mou realy like and see value in Fellaini. But why?

Yes I knew we love to hate Fellaini. He play so harsh, less skilled, and not beautiful. Obviously not a fan favourite. But that remind me of what my PE teacher slash football coach told me. He love that kind of player. Not the "not beautiful" part but the mentality to win at all cost. Even if that means to play an ugly harsh footbal in fans eyes. He'll do anything to get the job done even if he receive more hate from it.

Felliani struck me as that kind of player, for short : "a manager favourite"

To prove it, so far 3 managers want to keep him even when fans want him out. I'm sure they can see that value in Fellaini that we fans can't. Well I know it's not popular opinion here but I'm sure Mou realy like Fellaini for now.

Or i might be wrong. Who know?

Managers love Fellaini because he does whatever they tell him no questions asked.

Mourinho is starting Rooney because he thinks it's best for the team

EDIT: If you disagree with this comment please ignore it because this thread is for validating opinions only

Doesn't Mourinho starting him for football reasons contradict your opinion that managers only start him so they don't become unpopular in the "boys club" of English football.

Maybe you're right and Rooney should be dropped by all managers but creating a thread where nobody is allowed to argue your opinion is a bit silly

Valencia will struggle to maintain his excellent form and will be a liability at times this season.

Who maintains a good form all year

Obviously very few players can. Of all of our first team players though, I happen to be perhaps most doubtful of Valencia's reliability. Hope he does well though, great servant.

He isn't a defender and it shows. He doesn't know how to hold a line and that's very problematic for a defender. We'll need a new RB next season (and we needed one this season).

I think Rachel Riley is starting to look unhealthily skinny and becoming a lot less attractive because of it

I've watched probably all episodes of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown but I managed to not recognize her at all during the Friday Night Football pre-match thing, before the Southampton game. Might be the reason why...

Blind and Bailly should remain our centre half pairing throughout the season if all are fit. Smalling should not start.

I'm not sure if my response to this is ok for this thread or not, because I do agree to an extent...

I believe that at this moment they should continue to start. However I never believe any players spot should be "guaranteed". They should have to continue to perform better than our other options. If a player can be shit for a few games and undroppable, then we don't have good enough options on the bench

Yeah that's presuming Blind, Bailly and Smalling all perform at their bests. Basically I'm saying Bailly and Blind are our two best CBs.

Agree. Atleast one ball playing CB normaly include in CB pairing and neither Bailly nor Smalling are a good BP-CB.

But blind is a BP-CB, and very excell in the term of ball playing

Bailly's passing has impressed me a lot. I think he's a bit more refined on the ball than Smalling from playing at Villareal and in Spain

Sure he is. but not at level to be considered as ball playing CB

Rooney, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Valencia, Blind and Lingard won't ever be starting quality for a club like United (again).

Name 5 better Ball Playing Defenders than Blind.

    Inside club : none.

Outside club : Boateng, Hummels, Laporte, Pique, Bonucci, (or even Stones and Varane).

Some of them maybe not as good as Blind in the term of ball playing but better in the term of CB

Edit : If i may add, also some CB that under radar like Virgil van Dijk

Lol the question was name better ball playing defenders and you name 'better' CB's. I think Blind is THE best ball playing defender in the world, now sit down.

All players I've mention are ball playing CB.

And there are two part of ball playing CB which is "ball playing" and being "CB"

Or do you think a ball playing CB is only important for their "ball playing" part ?? Lol
