Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named Eurosport’s European Player of the month for August.
The Manchester United striker won a continent-wide poll in which well over 60,000 people voted.
Ibrahimovic has made a huge impact following his summer arrival on a free transfer, scoring four goals in United’s first three games of the season.
That was enough to see the Sweden triumph in our poll, nearly 2,000 votes ahead of Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.
Each month, our experts will nominate the two best players from each of the ‘Big Five’ leagues (Premier League, Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1) – and it’s up to you to vote for the European Player of the Month.
Each monthly winner will receive 10 points, second place gets 9 etc – and these will count towards the overall season ranking.
