The grind became too much.
I've liked the game, and I think it was worth buying and playing. But 48 hours in, the lack of variety has pushed me to give it up, at least for now.
I'm long past completing the Atlas path, but I can see that making it to the center will involve dozens more hours warping, collecting, warping, collecting.
A fraction of the exploration and discovery is still engaging, but I've seen every archetype and discovered 95 percent or more of new tech. There's little left but repetitive grind.
My only complaint is that the game was marketed on genuine novelty, exploration and discovery. In truth, very few planets ever feel different. They could easily be different biomes of the same world.
Nothing draws me back to the game now, because I know it will be a roughly similar experience every time I find a new system. It's not enough to keep me going 50 hours and beyond.
TL;DR - I like NMS, but it's too repetitive to keep me playing after 48 hours. I'm not a hater, just moving on, for now.
