Nope, Trump isn't correct, these individuals were given transit rights to come to the USA and apply for amnesty. Somehow some of a political persuasion have a hard time understanding immigration laws. Instead they believe that anyone not WASP is a terroritst...and they are of course wrong.

You depend on those rednecks to volunteer to protect liberal mainstays like the Northeastern U.S. "That year, more than 44 percent of military recruits came from rural areas, according to Pentagon figures. In contrast, only 14 percent came from major cities. Regionally, most enlistees come from the South (40 percent) and the West (24 percent)."

The rural United States has a different culture then the urban United States. One of the main differences is a firm belief in self responsibility including the defense of ones person and family.

Why not seek asylum in Latin America - many passed through Brazil, why not stay there? Mexico has LGBT equality - if they seek that safety, why not stay and claim asylum there? Go to an embassy in Africa and try to work out asylum status there - to either come to America or go somewhere else safe? It doesn't make sense why they've literally travelled through all of these countries - Latin America might not be the Holy Land but it has to be far away better than Ethiopia or Somalia.
That's the thing...once you leave a safe country you're no longer seeking refuge...you're seeking benefits and luxury.
Furthermore why would the Americas want to bring them in? If they really cared about helping them it's much cheaper to ship supplies across an ocean as opposed to shipping living breathing humans.
Well, it seems the US has been working with Costa Rica concerning their migrant crisis - sending in supplies and taking in small groups of verified asylum seekers for the last couple years. But it's one thing to help out Central Americans and people from the Caribbean - it's another to help out people who have literally gone through multiple "safe" and relatively wealthy countries and then lied to authorities to try and jump the queue. I get and sympathize with desperation and displacement - but they act as if they need to be let in before others, many of whom are more worse off but still trying to do it the "right" way.

Obama has deported more illegal immigrants than Bush and Clinton combined. The population of illegal immigrants has actually decreased from a record high of around 12 million in 2007.
Actually, population of illegals is an ever-changing estimate that no one on either side knows. Left is pushing increased refugee numbers, amnesty for the 11+ million here and every time there is a rush on the border, they welcome it with open arms for future votes.
Maybe its just you're just too young to recall a president called Reagan who has had the only amnesty in recent memory, or perhaps it's just that you're completely unaware that the GOP has held majorities in both the house and senate for most of recent history or of a two term president GWB where nothing whatsoever changed. Maybe these are the reasons for your ignorance.
Maybe you'd recall then that Reagan's amnesty also was to include better border protection, but after the amnesty was signed the Dems in Congress magically could no longer find the funding for it. Why would they? They got their amnesty and didn't have to do shit to stop further flows.
And you may not recall that the GOP held both the Senate and the Presidency during that period. Apparently the Democrats controlled both the Congress and Presidency despite having only holding the house.
Wrong, I've seen this argument too many times. It's flat out false. Obama changed the way deportations are recorded to make them appear like more deportations from previous presidents. Source: http://cis.org/vaughan/actually-a-little-deceptive and http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-obama-deportations-20140402-story.html and http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/us-deportation-rates-hit-a-ten-year-low_us_56141ac4e4b0baa355ad93e7 and http://www.politico.com/story/2011/10/obama-deportation-numbers-a-trick-066805. See when Obama pushes for executive orders like DACA and the dems are so happy to put things like the dream act, to give illegals in-state tuition, and sanctuary cities that even refuse to hand over criminals to ICE then we wonder why more and more keep coming, really?
Obama just changed the definition of "deportation" to make it look like he is deporting people. It used to mean finding people and taking them back to where they are from. (That doesn't happen anymore) Now if you just turn someone away at the border it counts as a deportation.
They go to the U.S. border and seek asylum. If it is denied, they will be deported back. This is standard for any asylum-seekers, under U.S. law you must arrive in the U.S. and then claim asylum; it is not granted in advance.
These individuals are not illegals and are seeking to be vetted by the U.S.
This is exactly the type of law-abiding immigration we should all support.

It's actually not false. But people like to discredit news based on sources. I have no issues with PP being skeptical, but it's not hard for he/she to do a google search and find corroborating sources.
NYT:
Also articles on Yahoo, Vice, Reuters, and a plethora of local news channel websites.
If someone doesn't like the story, it's not surprising they will try to discredit a particular source, even if there are many other sources that would take a 3 second web search to find.

Fox doesn't 'get its facts wrong'. They selectively choose which facts to present and which facts to withhold based on their agenda - i.e. which way they intentionally want to slant the story.
Fox is not 'News' - it's propaganda.
All corporate media is propaganda for the oligarchy.
It does that, but it also does get its facts flat out wrong much of the time because there are no consequences. Its audience does not particularly care, so there is no business incentive to ensure quality control.
