Some of you might already know the work underway at TRP.RED since I've enlisted the help of a number of you for testing and planning purposes, but today I'm making the big announcement to the greater community.

We are unveiling our newest feature on our TRP.RED network that pushes us another step closer to our goal of freedom to share information among brothers without fear of censorship:

Introducing: Podcasts @ TRP.RED

Our new free podcast feature, which can be found here, brings to the community the ability to record a podcast right from the browser, or upload a pre-recorded MP3 to your account to share with the rest of the internet.

If you're a perfectionist and prefer to use your own recording or editing software, no problem. Save as an MP3 and upload to your podcast, and share your podcast instantly.

Already have a blog or podcast? Feel free to upload your archives to TRP.RED to spark discussion among a concentrated group of the manosphere.

Podcast Questions & Topics

An additional feature that was requested by our very own /u/gaylubeoil is our Podcast Topic feature, which allows anybody in our community to post a question or topic that they are curious about, and allows anybody to respond to it in podcast form.

Other Changes

We've added a few other changes and fixes to the site as well:

  • Sticky posts, users can pin up to three statuses to the top of their profile and follow pages.
  • IRC Integration to our front page.
  • Mobile Friendly updates to many pages
  • Updates to the menu design on our feed

As always, our commitment is to continue to provide this community tools to communicate with our brothers, and to do so unobstructed by the censorship arm of the social justice brigade invading our culture. We will continue to unveil features of TRP.RED as we complete them.

Podcasts are neat eye-candy (or ear-candy). They build a sense of community, I guess. But they're a very situationally-useful medium.

At the end of the day, I can read the text of a 5-minute podcast in 30 seconds. And I can type something in 2 minutes that would take an hour to record, listen, fine-tune, and get right. And nobody reads my typed text and says, "Hey, I recognize that voice!"

Indeed I'm actually surprised by their popularity given that reading is faster and you can do it in more scenarios than listening to audio, but the demand was there... So we have blogs and podcasts!

My experience is a 'background'. you can't read and drive, but a podcast can work.

they are essentially to radio, what youtube and netflix were to cable TV

I love listening to podcasts and appreciate the addition to the site. My work involves a lot of quiet computer time and podcasts are a great way to break the monotony.

Just make sure you're listening on your own device and service while at work. Some guy got busted a few days by his female boss for reading 'misogynistic literature' on the company dime.

That may be, but I'm on my bicycle for twenty miles a day so I've got plenty of time to listen to podcasts and music. I know I'll enjoy the new feature.

The idea is that there is a lot more that can be communicated via voice. High impact statements using tone and tempo are not as easy to communicate via text. We're going to try to organize some kind of dialog as well, which will add another dimension.

That being said, we have a multitude of ways for users to communicate via text.

Podcasts can be streamed over devices and listened to while driving.

When you're an office drone looking to change your life drastically, anything that lets you make constructive use of wasted commuter time is great.

Podcasts were important to me when I worked as a dishwasher, I would listen to them to still get a dose of RP while doing menial shit for ten hours at a time

    There are things that writing cant communicate. Podcasts also require less effort and give a humanizing quality.

    With the whole youtube fiasco going on, it couldn't hurt to add video uploads as well, or if you can fund it, a livestream option. Periscope just doesn't cut it.

    I dont like the 24hr deletion aspect. If you make good content, archive your glory and categorize it so it isnt an overwhelming bulk.

    This is a very nice addition to the community and a great way to communicate with each other, sharing ideas etc. I will listen to it tomorrow and give my feedback.

    I think this is going to be a great feature that, even though not many will use, will be invaluable to those who use it.

    Yeah, anyone can put up a podcast as long as they have a trp.red account.

      Hey /u/redpillschool. I listed to the podcast just now and it was fairly short at about 2:40 long.

      I have a few recommendations:

      1) I think you should conduct an interview type podcast where you don't answer your own questions but rather create a dialogue session between you and another. I suggest something like Joe Rogans podcast for an example. I find that the best podcasts use this model.

      2) Perhaps use numbers in the podcast title so it gives us listeners a reference.

      3) I think most people listen to podcasts during their daily commute. Perhaps have a longer podcast from 20min to an hour.
