Damn, that video ended up being just audio at the climax of the whole thing. Had to use my imagination, but I thought I could hear some fighting, I guess. Anyway, this is why I stay the fuck away from religion.

I'm not going to make excuses for the "preacher", but part of living in a society with thousands to millions of other people in close proximity is frequently dealing with people doing things you don't like. By standing around gawking, you give an idiot the audience he craves, and by laying your hands on him, you (1) make his point for him (2) make it national news. "Preacher" couldn't have asked for a more successful outcome.

The attacker was a violent asshole. Maybe I wasn't listening clearly enough, but I didn't hear him say anything bigoted. The guy with the megaphone, it can be inferred, doesn't exactly have the purest of intentions though and judging from his rhetoric and how it was phrased, implies him to almost certainly be one.

You're allowed to say what you please in this country, but that doesn't mean you shielded from the consequences. The guy was trolling and he got punched.It was illegal, but he knew there could be consequences.

I'm not advocating for violence here. People are passionate about their culture and this sort of thing isn't exclusive to muslim bickering. Idiots troll and fight it's what they do.

I love rising tensions. Everyone is being so civil these days.

There will be a time when people look back on these posts to analyze just how things got this way. I imagine much of what's said here will be looked on as incendiary. Part of two sides heading down a path that no one wants to go down.

I'll just sit here hoping for some peace, as unlikely as that feels right now.

I don't understand why people don't just ignore idiots like this. They crave attention. If he was beaten up, he probably had the world's hardest boner throughout the entire experience.

The same for those guys who go on to a university campus, and start shouting about homosexuals and fornicators. They know that they are going to be surrounded by homosexuals and fornicators. They're not interested in starting a dialogue, they're trying to start a fight and/or get heaven points.
