Fighter jets flying over Lakewood? (self.Cleveland)

Anyone hear a couple really loud jets flying over the West side today (Thursday) around 12:30? What's going on?

Yup. The air show is at Burke this weekend, so they will be buzzing overhead on and off now through Monday. Don't panic.

Lots of jets are arriving for the Air Show today. The military birds do their test & timing flights on Thu & Fri. Back in the day when I used to have an office downtown, we'd watch from the top of the office bldg in Playhouse Square. Good times, got a great view, was a more impressive exhibition than the air show itself.

Yeah it's the Blue Angels, I think. They're doing all kinds of crazy maneuvers, too. I saw a couple of F22s cruise over yesterday.

As others have said, it's the blue angels prepping for the air show. If you can - go down to the lakefront today/tomorrow and watch their practice. It's pretty fun - my office will go out for 20 min or so and watch!

My wife works high up in Key Tower and we've watched the Blue Angels from there several times. Before 9/11 they used to fly BETWEEN the buildings and that was one of the coolest things we ever saw. Don't think they do it anymore although when they practice they may take a liberty or two.
