Obviously he's not managing, and he took a little shot at punditry.

Did I miss something? Is he retiring as a manager, taking a break, or is he linked with another job?

If anyone knows, that would be nice. Thanks

I did, didn't find anything, so I asked. I couldn't find the response he gave after the Indian in door event, and someone was nice enough to oblige.
