About the Medical Device Innovation Programme

  • Designed to provide students with a range of knowledge and skills for employment in a medical device environment.
  • Opportunities for graduates in the medical device industry in design, manufacturing, technical services, customer support and a range of other areas in this skilled industry.
  • The programme was formulated with industry input in response to a number of recommendations highlighted in the Forfás Report on the Future Skills Needs of the Irish Medical Devices Sector.
  • The programme specifically addresses the need to upskill technicians and the provision of professional development within this sector.

Who can apply for this programme?*

  • Those with a NQAI Level 7 degree in an appropriate engineering or science discipline.
  • Typically graduates from mechanical, manufacturing, electronic, electrical, civil, structural and related engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • Suitably qualified applicants returning to full-time education.
  • Open to many disciplines — Contact us (see details below) to see if your background would qualify you for acceptance onto this 1 year NQAI Level 8 Honors Degree (B.Sc.) programme
  • Currently, all applicants eligeble under Springboard Labour Market Activation
