Why do we hate on Rojo? (self.reddevils)

OK, he isn't world class, but I remember him putting some good crosses in last season (or possibly the season before that). Did he play really poorly in one particular game?

He isn't as bad as people on here claim, I think he had a few decent games last year that were ignored.

He isn't starting quality though

Why does everyone feel the need to label criticism as "hate" now a days?

I like Marcos Rojo, he seems like he truly cares about the club, and is very passionate about being a United player. But that doesn't necessarily mean that he is good enough for us.

Exactly. This whole "Hate" (or Hate on for our non UK Redditors) winds me up. I don't hate the man, I just don't think his passing, positioning, tactical awareness or strength are good enough to warrant either a starting place or even a place at United.

Like you say he's a passionate bloke but that doesn't make him a good enough player. On the pitch it's what you do with your feet not your mouth that matters.

So we aren't supposed to hate the LB/CB just because he puts in some good crosses? Which IMO he doesn't and he can't defend.

He started off well imo, then iirc was injured. When he came back from injury he never showed his original form. Imo I think we should keep him as a squad player given his strength and he has the ability to put in some good performances as well has having decent speed. I think he's a better lb than Blind (I know I'm going to get some flak about that). For some reason some people here seem to really hate on him with a passion. Not unlike how Fellaini was, and now Fellaini has become a God here. People need to stop knee jerking, be patient and trust the manager.

The injury you're talking about was the dislocated shoulder in the derby. I thought he looked decent until that point.

I don't mind him as backup LB but he has a tendency to hoof it up the left flank rather than pass it out which got on my nerves last season

For me it is his willingness to act in the team, he always seems to take a back seat when the team are losing, he never stands up like Shaw does, his crosses were also terrible and directed at no-one.

He put in a few good defensive performances that were overlooked though, and hats off to him for beefing himself up like he has done, maybe he has been getting used to his 'new body' too. I'd defo keep him because if we have another injury crisis he could end up being our CB who knows.

Overall I think their is a disconnection between the fans and Rojo, this gets better by trying to make a difference though.

His crossing is vert poor actually (bar his cross to Herrera vs Everton (A). If Rojo receives the ball in an threatening, wide area in the final third, the move breaks down 99 times out of 100. As for defending he can be a mess at times, mind he has some good games defensively e.g vs KDB at Old Trafford.

He's nowhere near good enough for United and causes more problems on the pitch than positive impact.

Why hate? Why does everything have to be black and white? Love or hate him. Amazing player or terrible player.

He is a good player but hasn't looked up to the standard we require yet. Lovely chap, sits in the stands with the fans at times. No reason to hate him at all.

Hope he either steps up with us, or goes somewhere he will play more and have a good career.

He's had a lot of chances. He's looked soso at left back and very poor at centre back... It's either keep him as a utility player or sell him.

He's an appalling left back. Nowhere near good enough. He's not a particularly great defender and going forward h'es a bit of a joke.

You need to watch actual games, not ScoutNationHD to know that Rojo is not up to the standard if we want to challenge for the title
