In the modern world of football it is hard for any transfer to be completed without weeks of speculation and anticipation, particularly when a club the size of Manchester United is involved. 

However, from time to time, a player completes his move to Old Trafford in a much swifter fashion and our video above showcases 10 examples of just that – beginning with Eric Cantona in 1992 when the Frenchman moved across the Pennines, leaving Leeds United to begin his iconic Reds career.

Strikers feature heavily with Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham both involved, as well as Alan Smith after his surprising move from Elland Road. Henrik Larsson and Radamel Falcao's loan deals also make the cut, plus the shock capture of Michael Owen and arrival of then little-known forward Javier Hernandez.

Sir Alex Ferguson's big-money move for superstar Argentina playmaker Juan Sebastian Veron had to be recalled, as well as the famously successful acquisition of Robin van Persie from title rivals Arsenal.
