Frequently Asked Questions

About Watch truTV

CAN I WATCH FULL EPISODES OF MY FAVORITE truTV SHOWS ANYTIME, ANYWHERE?

YES. We provide FREE, unlimited access to full-length truTV episodes the day after they premiere. Missed a recent episode of IMPRACTICAL JOKERS or THE CARBONARO EFFECT? Watch the entire thing on your computer, tablet or phone. And yes, you do need a computer, tablet or smartphone. You can't watch Impractical Jokers on that old flip phone of yours.

WHY AM I BEING ASKED TO LOG IN?

Okay, here's how it works. The way we see it, if you pay for cable and get truTV that way, you oughta be able to watch it any old way you want. So logging in just lets us know that you currently have a TV subscription and are entitled to access truTV. When you log in, your cable, phone company or satellite provider has access to your subscriber information. That information includes which networks you pay for. So once we know you paid the fare, you can take the truTV ride on your device of choice.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO LOG IN?

You don't have to log in every time you come back. Once activated, your session can last up to 30 days. This varies by provider though, so don't give us a ton of grief about it, okay? OK.

WHAT THE WHAT?! MY PROVIDER ISN'T LISTED! WHO SHOULD I PUNCH?

Don't punch anybody. If you are paying for TV and your provider is not listed, it means that they aren't yet providing access to full episodes online. But DON'T GIVE UP. Check back soon. We're constantly adding new television providers. And here's an idea: Open up that device you were gonna watch truTV on and enter a reminder 30 days from now into its calendar function. Check back then, and hopefully you'll be good to go. Also, you could contact your provider for more information on when they'll be making full episodes available.

WAIT. WHEN EXACTLY DO truTV FULL EPISODES BECOME AVAILABLE ANYWAY?

Most truTV shows will be available to users who log in the morning after they air on television. That means you will be able to watch last night's episodes with your morning bowl of cereal. Unless you don't eat cereal. In that case, you will be able to watch last night's episode with your morning coffee. Or Danish. Or biscuits and gravy. This isn't really about your breakfast choices.

HOLD UP. HOW DO I FIND MY FAVORITE SHOWS HERE?

This is easy. Click on the TV SHOWS tab at the top of the page to take a deeper into the world of truTV. You'll have instant access to many full episodes of the shows you love most. And you might even find a new favorite show!

I DON'T SEE FULL EPISODES FOR EVERY truTV SHOW... WHERE ARE THEY?

I could easily call up a lawyer and get him to explain the thousands of miniscule details about why some truTV shows are not currently available to watch online, but we really love our fans, so we don't want to murder them with boredom. Suffice to say, all shows aren't always available. But don't despair, we frequently update our programming, so the show you're looking for may be available soon.

SOUNDS GOOD SO FAR... HOW MUCH MORE IS THIS GOING TO COST?

You know how they say there's no such thing as free lunch? Well, that's still true, since you can't eat truTV shows. But here's the thing- This whole feature is FREE with your cable, telco or satellite subscription and is available through participating providers. You paid for cable already. Watch it where YOU want, for NO additional money.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM truTV ON DEMAND?

Good question! You guys are tough. Okay, here we go. This is an online service and can be accessed on your computer, tablet or phone, whereas truTV On Demand can only be viewed on your television.

I'M STILL CONFUSED. HOW DO I CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE?

Dang. Sorry to hear it. The best first step if you require assistance is to contact your television provider directly, because not everything works the same way with different packages.

I'M ACTUALLY EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL OR LOG IN DIFFICULITIES. CAN YOU HELP?

We can try. If you're experiencing technical or login difficulties, refer to the corresponding technical FAQ section (below).

When I try to watch a show, the video keeps skipping. Help!

We feel your pain! If the video is skipping while playing, make sure the speed of your Internet connection is at least 3Mbps. Activities such as downloading, browsing, etc. in the background can disrupt video playback. To get the most optimal experience, check that the web browser loading this site is the only application running. In addition, slower systems may have problems playing video back optimally. Check the minimum system specs to be certain your computer is fast enough to watch our full episodes. And generally try to be a good person. When it comes to optimal online video playback, we find good Karma helps too.

When I try to watch an episode, the volume is too low. How do I fix this?

Yeah, that’s a drag. Our shows don’t really work as silent films. If you are having trouble with the volume on a video, try the following steps:

  1. Check the volume control in the video player to verify that it's not on the lowest setting.
  2. Make sure your computer's volume is not muted or too low.
  3. See if you have the most recent version of the Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. If not, go to www.adobe.com to install the latest version of the player.
  4. Check the audio/headphone cables on your computer and make sure they're connected.
  5. Clean out your ears, you filthy creature.
