Will it be another display of losing the ball, killing momentum Consistently?

Will he scrape in with another assist or goal to paper over the cracks?

I'm a Rooney critic and don't believe he really warrants a first team spot but he was better than Zlatan this week. Yes, he lost the ball a lot, 3 times in 30 seconds at one point, but he made a few nice runs, brought people into the game, had a few nice corners and created the goal. Far from perfect but more constructive than Zlatan. Hull just pressed and pressured well. Rooney, Pogba, Valencia and Zlatan all wasted posession a lot. Give some credit to Hull for that.

I'd rather Miki in for Mata, but as long as we're winning I'm content with Rooney there. Both Rooney and Martial need to improve to keep their spot though, because Lingard and Rashford deserve game time and Memphis deserves a chance.

Rooney was better than Mata and Martial too.

Personally I think of the three while he hasn't been great it should be Mkhitaryan and Rashford in for Mata and Martial and Rooney keep his place for now.

Perhaps bring Mata back in at 10, or Memphis on the left, Martial back in with Mkhitaryan at 10 if he doesn't pickup in the next 2 games

I'd agree with that.

I'd agree Mhiki for Mata going forward but I'm reticent to switch Martial and Rashford. We've already dropped an abandoned one winger when he struggled in Memphis, I'd rather give Martial a chance to play himself out of this. Also we saw how Ferguson dicking Smalling and Jones around at CB and RB for years hindered their development, Welbeck at LW and ST too. I'd rather not repeat that with Rashford, we've seemingly committed Martial to LW, I'd rather commit Rashford to #2 ST, and let him train and develop there. The odd cameo on the wing is fine, but when the games come thick and fast he should be playing up front not getting comfortable on the wing and keeping both Martial and Memphis from playing.
