I'm part of the generation that expects men and women to be equal, but also puts women on pedestals and expects men be chivalrous. I always rejected this double thinking. Either she is equal and can open her own door and pay for dates or she wants a 1950's relationship where I pay for everything and she bares me children and takes care of the house. I would rather have a mate to whom I'm equal with and we both make decisions. But I've grown tired of women who want the best of both worlds. There are TONS of women who agree with this and those are the ones I've always sought out. But first dates are always the make or break point. I've had lots of women question why I don't do certain things. "Why didn't you open the door for me?" "Because you are fully able to open a door yourself. I open doors for the elderly because they need assistance, I give up my seat for and elderly person because they need to sit more than I do. Are you saying that women don't have the power to open a door, or can't stand for more than 10 minutes?" As far as I'm concerned I'm far more egalitarian than any feminist I've ever encountered.
