I don't know if I would put today's Ribery as World Class. I also don't think Thiago is World Class.

Overall though their squad is definitely strong. I just think the term World Class is used far too loosely.

Agree with u on Ribery... Not so much on thiago... If thiago was English... He'd be so hyped...

I don't think we're a couple of signings away from being a juggernaut again.

Give the new signings time to gel and learn the Mourinho way and we'll be there soon enough.

agreed... might take more than just a couple of signings..

I'm not sure. Bayern's core has been together for almost a decade and multiple managers. Ours is young and still gelling. We have a ton of talent that could grow to that level if properly instructed.

Bayern wasn't built only from galactico signings, they made smart moves and have a great system to plug players into.

They're a well oiled machine, but we're still pretty young by comparison, and most of our players have less than 3 years with the first team so I think we need a couple more campaigns to really gel like that.

Pogba, Shaw, DDG, and Martial are or have shown they can grow to be at that level. Memphis, Bailly, and Rashford might get there.

On their day when deployed properly, Smalling, Carrick, Fellaini, Mkhi, and even Tony V can really take over a match.

Zlatan is Zlatan.

Thiago and Alonso are world class?

[–]redwolfCR7[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

I definitely think so...

Dude no way.

World class is like the best of the best in their respective position, they aren't even close to top 5 in either.

It's one thing to compare the squads of the two teams, but if anyone is watching this match you've got to take into account that Werder Bremen look completely disinterested and are allowing the Bayern players a ridiculous amount of time and space on the ball. While I agree that they've had a roaring start to the match, as you've noted, it's important to remember that Werder Bremen are doing Bayern a ton of favors at the moment.

The second goal is evidence alone that Werder Bremen have already given up. Their back line is completely out of sync and the defenders were jogging back after Lewo ran through.

You're right... this is completely irrelevant.

Javi Martinez is behind Busquets as the second best defensive midfielder in the world imo, he's injury prone but when fit he's untouchable

I agree, Bayern are my favourites to win the UCL this year

Best defensive midfielder in the world behind Busquets might be bit of a stretch... but he is definitely an awesome player who still needs to perform consistently to be counted among the top 3 or 5 best defensive mid fielders ... Just my 2 cents

Who would you rate higher? I'm curious

[–]redwolfCR7[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (3子コメント)

Right now i'd say in no particular order: Alonso, Kante, Matic, Fernandinho, Dier, Wanyama, De Rossi, Mascherano, Casemiro... My list might be skewed based on the performances of last season or because i follow EPL more than the other leagues...

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion but Jesus Christ some of those players couldn't even shine Javi's shoes lol

And imo he's better than every one of those players, and I've watched a lot of Bayern games where he's played

Hmmm.. As you said.. everyone's entitled to their opinion ;)

Those are purely defensive players for the most part. Kante, Dier, Wanyama and Casemiro (to an extent) doesn't bring anything in an attacking sense, and while that's OK for most teams, those players probably won't get a sniff in a team like Bayern who require their defensive midfielder to contribute forwards aswell
