This might be irrelevant to this reddit... but watching the Bundesliga opener - Bayern vs Wolfsberg... They have had more than 5 shots in the first 10 min. Alonso scoring a sweet volley at 8th minute... and 2 goals in 15 first minutes of the season... Whoa.. They seem like such a well oiled machine... 10 out of those starting 11 are world class... except javi martinez... who in all fairness could still be a world class player.. (His knee injury might have taken a chip or two)... We are still a couple of signings away from being counted as being scary in the same way... Hope Mou builds our team by next season and scare the shit out of the UCL teams...

Javi Martinez is behind Busquets as the second best defensive midfielder in the world imo, he's injury prone but when fit he's untouchable

I agree, Bayern are my favourites to win the UCL this year

Best defensive midfielder in the world behind Busquets might be bit of a stretch... but he is definitely an awesome player who still needs to perform consistently to be counted among the top 3 or 5 best defensive mid fielders ... Just my 2 cents

I don't think we're a couple of signings away from being a juggernaut again.

Give the new signings time to gel and learn the Mourinho way and we'll be there soon enough.

I'm not sure. Bayern's core has been together for almost a decade and multiple managers. Ours is young and still gelling. We have a ton of talent that could grow to that level if properly instructed.

Bayern wasn't built only from galactico signings, they made smart moves and have a great system to plug players into.

They're a well oiled machine, but we're still pretty young by comparison, and most of our players have less than 3 years with the first team so I think we need a couple more campaigns to really gel like that.

Pogba, Shaw, DDG, and Martial are or have shown they can grow to be at that level. Memphis, Bailly, and Rashford might get there.

On their day when deployed properly, Smalling, Carrick, Fellaini, Mkhi, and even Tony V can really take over a match.

I don't know if I would put today's Ribery as World Class. I also don't think Thiago is World Class.

Overall though their squad is definitely strong. I just think the term World Class is used far too loosely.

Thiago and Alonso are world class?
