Haven't been quite convinced with Mourinho's 4-3-2-1 so far,

Martial hasn't quite seemed at home yet and would be much better served in a 4-3-3 imo. Would reduce the pressure on him to track back certainly.

Pogba seemed shackled in a similar role during the Euros, can't help but think that a position ahead of a midfield screen (Blind/Schneiderlin) in a 3 man midfield would suit him better.

Lastly I hate to say this but Rooney needs to be benched now. He's been slow and ineffective and has kept Mkhitaryan out of the first team.

Here's what I propose: DDG: Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Shaw: Blind/Carrick: Pogba, Fellaini/Herrera: Martial, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan

No offence, but this has been discussed to death on this sub. What you propose is clearly a good option for a 4-3-3, perhaps with Rooney as a further option in an advanced midfield. But at this moment in time we're likely to continue with Mou's preferred formation.

Also, must admit I was impressed with how Pogba slotted into our midfield. Mourinho recognises that he needs the freedom to roam and attack, I don't think he's bought him without an intimate understanding of his strengths.
