Under 50 hours to go, holding over goal for a while now... last two days might pick up as well (https://www.kicktraq.com/projects/1317854656/ockel-sirius-b-the-powerful-windows-10-pocket-pc/). Congratulations @Creator!

    2. Evan Lefevre 2 days ago

@Creator, following our last conversation, I keep my $1 pledge (because of the power cable) BUT I love your pocket PC and I will keep an eye on your products for the future. Good luck for next months!

    3. Krishean Draconis 2 days ago

@Creator Glad to hear you're opening up the BIOS! It looks like the counter is above the goal right now ;-)

    4. Ockel Computers Creator 3 days ago

@Sean, thanks so much! We're as excited as you are and can't wait to see the funding counter hit the 100% again.

@Creator- Thanks! Upped my pledge to 3 (Black Cherry + OS, Sirius B + OS, Sirius B NO OS, 3x shipping) which briefly bumped over goal. Two steps forward, one step back- I believe it will succeed but dancing between 99/100/99 a fair amount definitely increases the excitement!

    6. Ockel Computers Creator 3 days ago

@EK, We're opening up the BIOS for your convenience.
@Sean, that's great news. We've updated the FAQ with two examples how to pledge for multiple units.

      Sean Seagren 3 days ago

@Creator- I'm potentially interested in ordering a second unit. The FAQ indicates a separate order is necessary, but update 5 mentioned some people increased their pledge to order multiple units. What's the correct procedure?

    8. EK 3 days ago

Another question before it ends. I'm considering going with an OS or a No OS. Will the BIOS be accessible or would I have to go through the EFI shell?

    9. Ockel Computers Creator 4 days ago

@All, thanks for the congratulations, you made this happen, thanks so much. We're bouncing up & down around the campaign funding goal so make sure to share our campaign with your friends, family and colleagues!

@Jeff: Yup! A touchscreen interface is a possibility. You may even add a USB powered touchscreen to the Ockel Sirius B Black Cherry.

@Derek: The size of the 5v input is 2.5mm

      Hi,
Does it supports touch screen interface? Or only mouse keyboard? Should be great if you guys developed a portable screen where you can slide the black cherry in. Just an idea...

    17. Ockel Computers Creator 6 days ago

@Evan, thanks for reaching out to us. Actually we've considered to implement a Micro USB connector as the main power connection of the Black Cherry. However, we've experienced far more stable behavior with the current 5V/2A USB powercable + USB adapter.
You do have a valid argument and we'll for sure be focussing on implementing a micro usb charge solution in our future products.

      Thanks for your input Evan!

    18. Evan Lefevre 7 days ago

Hey @team! I'm a $1 backer because I'm interested by your project. I'm a traveler and I've got one fear in my life: cables. So I ask you about the power cable. The Sirius B is a 5V/2A and today, many external batteries has a USB port like this. Furthermore, Raspberry works with a micro USB port.

Does the power cable is REALLY essential? I mean, is it not a better idea to give us this power cable, but with a micro USB connector like others Pockets PC?

Your pocket PC wants to be mobile - I think its dependence on a socket is a problem.

      Thanks for your answer!

Hi Lianda, you have a fine eye for detail!
The keyboard displayed on our campaign page and in our video is the Avanca M-line Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard for Windows.
All the information about this keyboard can be found here: http://www.avancaproducts.com/en/shop/keyboards/m-line-wireless-bluetooth-keyboard-for-windows/

      Hope this helps :)

Very random question: in one of the pictures that's part of your campaign you showcase the Black Cherry next to a wireless keyboard. What type of keyboard is being used here?

Oops. The second 200GB should read 128GB...

    22. Ockel Computers Creator on August 11

      Hi all,

Thanks for reaching out to us! We're trying to answer all questions through both private messages and the public comment section for the convenience of all other backers.

@Robert That's correct. We are indeed shipping from The Netherlands.

@EK @Robert The Sirius B Black Cherry theoretically supports Micro SD cards of up to 128GB. In practice a 200GB micro SD card might work, however we cannot guarantee that the behavior is as it should be. That's why we're performing several tests with a Sandisk Ultra 200GB Micro SD card and we'll definitely let you know about the results.

@Pat That's actually a great idea! We'll definitely take this in consideration.

    23. EK on August 11

@Robert Thanks for the comment. I know I've also got the Sandisk and Patriot versions and most of what I stuck them in work fine, but I've unfortunately had a few that didn't. It's encrypted and all my pictures and docs from the last 20 years are in it... It's important (to me atleast...)

    24. Pat Sparks on August 11

@ Creator: is it possible to make a special bracket so i can fix it at the back of a monitor, so it would not by lying on my desk?? Maybe as an extra feature to order with an Ockel??

    25. Robert Khoe
      Superbacker
      on August 11

@EK I put a lot of 64GB cards in products which support 32GB, 128GB in products which support 64GB. And a 200GB in a device which officially supports 200GB. All with no problems.
What I try to say: it might work anyway ...

    26. EK on August 11

Have just became a backer. Although I won't cancel my pledge the 128GB limitation of the SD would be... limiting of what I could do with it on the go. If you could give it 200GB or better (possible future microSD) it will become perfect!

Hi there, do you have details on the uSD card that ships with the sirius es ? Class, etc .... Thanks !

    29. Ockel Computers Creator on August 5

      Hi all!

We already replied to all comments through private messages, as that is the most direct way to communicate, but we thought it would be a good idea to post an additional comment, so everyone can read the answers!

@Robert: Our pocket PC's shouldn't cause any trouble if you leave them on always. However, this highly depends on what you are planning to use the Ockel Sirius B or Sirius B Black Cherry for. If you run the CPU at 100% constantly or in a warm environment where the heat cannot be processed properly, this might cause the Sirius B to power off, especially since we use a passive cooling system.
Regarding your question about the Micro SD cards: yes, in the current options we offer the limit is 128.

@Alexander: The Ockel Sirius B Black Cherry has 1 HDMI-port, but you can add an additional screen using the USB-port, if you have a USB-monitor. Please note that this monitor would need to have its own power supply. You could also use an HDMI-splitter, but in that case you'll get the same view twice, I don't know if that is what you are looking for?
Another great option would be to use either the Dual Display app (for iOS) or the Splashtop Wired XDisplay (for Android) so you can turn your smartphone or tablet into a second screen. At http://www.ockelproducts.com/blog/ you can find instructions how to do this. A USB 3.1 port is not included in the current design of the Black Cherry, but we'll dive into the possibilities!

how about a USB 3.1 port? For a second screen may be connected. I love to work with two monitors.

      Hey @Creator, nice project!
I've got a question about the power cable. How is it? I'm scare about transporting a huge supply and a boring cable. I think it's not the same power cable that any other device?
      Thanks!

      @Creator

Is the Sirius B designed to operate 24/7? Is 128GB the absolute limit concerning the capacity for the SD-card (I use 200GB-cards in my mobile devices)?

Looking good? Thinking of applications for this PC...

      Success, cu,

      Hi backers,

Thank you for your support, we are really happy to have all of you on board. We'll post an official update soon, but we justed wanted to express our gratitude to all of you for joining us and helping us to create the Ockel Sirius B and the Ockel Sirius B Black Cherry.

As a reply to your questions:

@Pat: we don't have official stats for the Sirius B Black Cherry yet, as we are running the final tests. We'll keep you updated on that! The Sirius B boots in less than 30 seconds.

@Alexander: yes, it's possible to change the OS to German!

@Julian: If you choose one of the rewards without an operating system, you can install the operating system yourself using a USB-stick. At www.ockelproducts.com/support we have a section called 'Solutions' where you can find some useful tips on how to (re)install an operating system!

Feel free to reach out in case you have any other question!
