Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. I don't really know how to use reddit.

A few nights ago my boyfriend was at my house. He was messing around on his phone and acting weird about it. I thought at first that he was texting another girl but I saw that he was on reddit so I didn't think about it. At one point I did catch that he was in a group called TheRedPill.

Later I went on it myself to see why he was being all secretive about it. I figured it was gonna be porn.

I spent the last couple days reading that group and I'm...i don't know...shocked? Scared?

Now I see these little tactics my boyfriend has been using on me and where he learned them. "dread game" talking down to me etc

My question is, is it too late for him? He's only 18. I'm 16. I guess I'm asking if I should jump ship now for my safety or if it's probably a phase he'll grow out of? The reason I ask is because I lost my virginity to him and now I guess I feel loyal to him? Like....I feel like I wasted my first time if he turns out to be a woman hating asshole.

Ugh NO! Please leave him - do you really want to be with someone who thinks that women have the mental capacity of a child? That uses manipulation (and sometimes straight up abusive tactics) to get what he wants?? Who completely disregards your feelings and demeans you for having normal human emotions? FUCK NO!!

You have NO loyalty to this person because HE HAS NO LOYALTY TOWARDS YOU!! He doesn't care about you - that's the harsh truth. Hopefully as he gets older he will recognize the error of his thinking, but you should NOT wait around for that to happen!

As for losing your virginity to him - oh well! Most people do not have a picture perfect first time and the vast majority don't end up being with that person forever. So you lost it to a douchebag - it happens! (I lost mine to rapist, but that's an entirely different story, but the moral is that it doesn't define me as a person and who I lost my virginity to has absolutely no effect on my life now).

Good luck. You are smart to even consider leaving him - but follow through! I promise there are plenty of men out there who will treat you like an equal human being. Don't you want that??

I will gently say that this would be one of the biggest deal breakers for me - these men do not value consent, for one. I would not feel safe or respected.
