My theory is pretty out there, but I think it might be what's gonna happen based on the path the manga has been taking. I think that the next chapter, as crazy as it sounds, will be chapter 104

Come on Bot. It's not even 103.

The first test will be concluded shortly after the start of the chapter, with a good portion of U.A.'s students passing the first test. (Not all of them, that would be unrealistic for me to expect.) The second test will be a little less straightforward and little more calling to the students' judgement and general modus operanti when it comes to, say, rescuing people. For example, Bakugou could use a little lesson on what makes a hero, as he is too focused on combat and not on doing what a hero is supposed to do, which is rescue civilians in peril.
For the third test that will follow in the chapter after, there will be an arena and it will be made from all those squares that make a circle.
And one tile is going to be green.
...References aside, the third test, I believe, is going to be plain old combat...

For a hundred students passing.... maybe they can have all the U.A, mostly to show how competent Deku is when working a team (like when they rescued Bakugou), but it does seem far fetched.

I also think they will have to perform heroics that involve more than just fighting, or combat of any kind.... and I think that is where Bakugou will fall behind. Look, eventually Bakugou is going to have some humble beaten into him, and being kidnapped has calmed him down a little, but maybe instead of just being beaten into a pulp by a stronger dude, showing him that he lacks a lot of a hero qualities is a good way to start his growth.

Still, I would love to see Bakugou get his teeth kicked in. Besides that fight with All Might, when he went full retard, Bakugou never had a opponent that gave him a run for his money... Deku was focusing on the exam, and Todoroki's mind was far away... and he wasn't that interested in indulging Bakugou and his ego.

Hope the last part won't be your normal 1 on 1 tournament... but it is easy to set up and the readers like this kind of stuff, and you can go crazy with fight scenes and all that.

And I got the reference... man, the 4 star dudes did a great job with Cell, he is the most fun. Glad people told me to get back watching them.

Bakugou has had enough humble pies as of lately, so it would be redudant if he got yet another one. All Might has served his purpose of showing Bakugou the gap between himself and his invincible idol, Deku's fight with him that he has been surrounded by mediocrity for so long that he's just in fact a frog that has just jumped out of his well and there are guys that even from his previous immediate circle can give him a run for his money so he was in fact not even the biggest fish in his pond and Todoroki not indulging him that he's not always going to get his way just because he says so.
Overall, his development has been very steady. He does not need to have his teeth kicked in in any way.
No, no, what he needs is to learn the finer points of heroism and that his job is to save people rather than be an instrument of war.
He's changing his attitude for the better so far, so the second test focusing on rescuing people would be pointing him at what direction he should be growing and going from there.
He's still a first year in the academia, after all.
Learning is pretty much 90% of what you do there.

Maybe... Still I have the impression that Bakugou haven't grown out of being the mean spirited bully he was completely, and while I agree he has been changing, maybe a big defeat (not necessarily in combat) would be the definitive turning point for the character.

I know change is gradual and all that, but Bakugou was portrayed to be such a colossal A-hole that I find that without a more "incisive" experience, he wouldn't turn his ways so easily.

And of course Bakugou doesn't need to get his ass kicked... I just want to see that.. I mean, just seeing Deku "getting rekt" over and over gets old after a while... or more accurately, rekting himself... I dunno, let someone else having a turn Midoriya, jesus at this point he knows the whole hospital staff by name...

[–]God_of_Kings 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

Okay, let's assume that this more "incisive" experience of yours takes place. What would he learn from having his teeth kicked in other than the fact that there are people who can kick his teeth in? He'd just become colder and more mean-spirited than before, that's all.
He's got a great thing going for him right now and it should keep up.
I think that people should just stop projecting onto him, that's all.

Midoriya constantly breaking himself also served the story perfectly and made the transition from arms to legs all the more awesome. Not to mention that it makes me care about his character's welbeing all the lot more because injuries suddenly matter. They have impact on the story, they have weight, they are not just excuses to get the character in a lot of bandages and have him miraculously get back up.
Now all he needs to do is to incorporate fists and fingers back into his new style and he will be an absolute beast.
But until then, he should let his arms rest and bring his legs up to speed as to what he'll be demanding of them.
Overall, Horikoshi is doing a nearly perfect job so far and he should keep doing that.
Just tone down the VA a bit.
Although with All for One's imprisonment, they'll most likely take a step away from the spotlight for a while, at least as an immediate threat to the heroes.

Relax pal, I'm not projecting anything, I actually like Bakugou, might be my second favorite character after Deku, and yes, the fact he is a huge jerk is part of why I like him as a character.

And by the "experience", I was thinking more in the terms of him failing to perform heroics, as you put it, rescuing people and other facets to this, just something for him to realize that he need to really start changing his ways (remember he didn't score any rescue points in his entrance exams, maybe that is some fore shadowing). I know it's a bit heavy handed, but this is still a story made for younger teens and sometimes it's better to spell it out some of these moments. Of course, it doesn't need to be overly dramatic, or make him go all "Sasuke" on us.

And the Bakugou getting his ass kicked... that was more for my amusement really, because I think he is a compelling character in defeat, and because I like the character I want to see him in different situations, even if it is his lows. And again, aside form All Might, Bakugou haven't really got a challenge that pushed him to him to his limits. But that's just me, and I don't expect the author, or any series to cater to me of course, and in the end we are just shooting the shit here.

But yeah... not talking out of "bully" trauma here... had a pretty chill school life actually.

At least half of the UA kids aren't gonna make it. And we shall see an example of whats to come in "High School Wars"

[–]FalcoHype 7ポイント8ポイント  (3子コメント)

Midorya's team, Bakugou's team and Todoroki will make it pass the Forest of Death, then it will begin a series of random 1v1s in which Rock Lee Midorya will shock us all by his display of strength against Happy Gaara Inasa.

[–]God_of_Kings 10ポイント11ポイント  (2子コメント)

Midoriya: "I'm going to take off my shoes now."
Inasa: "Go right ahead and do whatever you want, you'll never pierce my barrier, for I have the absolute defense."
Midoriya: *drops the shoes, they create craters*
Inasa: "...Oh my All Might, what are they made off?!"
Midoriya: "They were forged out of a dying dwarf star. They weigh about as much as a herd of elephants. Each."
Inasa: "...This guy lifts. Like, holy FUCK, this guy lifts."

[–]FalcoHype 7ポイント8ポイント  (1子コメント)

Sad thing Deku only knows the Gate of Pain.

Edit:

Flashback

Midorya: All Might-sensei, can I be a great hero without knowing Ninjutsu or Genjustsu?

All Might: The fuck are those mah boi?

Present

"He was always so encouraging"

[–]God_of_Kings 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yes, because knowing the Gate of Death would certainly be beneficial to hi-
Holy FUCK, Midoriya is Rock Lee!!
Does this mean that Horikoshi subconsciously believes that Rock Lee should be the focus of the story and not Naruto?!
somethingX: "It's just a coincide-"
I have figured out EVERYTHING.
somethingX: "Nope, nevermind, I don't care nearly enough to get you off that horse. Ride along."

I'm not entirely sure because the rules haven't been fully fleshed out, but if the only way to push the targets is by using the balls, Deku's group is gonna harvest a majority of the balls thrown at them during the UA Crushing. Then they'll launch a counter attack.

Also I think it'd be cool if Momo made like fake targets/balls? and other schools would be tricked into thinking they got the 3rd target from UA students, when they haven't.

[–]xaxzzzaz 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

Captain Deku and the Avengers other UA students will kick many asses.

Shindou won't get knocked out by Midoriya, but will fight Bakugo. Midoriya finds meets up with Todoroki, while a couple of his party have already lost. Bakugo uses AP shot to get two of shindou's points, or at least one. Then Inasa comes in to get the last one, you see him with a party of wookie and the other chick.

[–]NotMidoriGurin 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

I'm hoping to see how the students work with their new upgrades, how Todoroki fends off other schools, and how Mina is going to shine now that she decided to group with the main character. And the Inasa hype is still here, right?

[–]God_of_Kings 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

More or less, yeah.
I mean, we don't have a lot to go off and be hyped about him yet, so we are eager in moderation.
