I went to the drug store yesterday to pick up a few things, noticing how many ugly, fat women are working in the cosmetic section (also beauticians). Chuckled to myself and continued collecting my stuff. When I got to the counter, the woman rings my stuff through, and then asks me, "would you like to donate to women against violence?"
That's when I got pretty angry. Although, I didn't lash out because she probably has no idea and it's her job to ask those things anyway, but I was going to explain to her the domestic violence issues, how women are liars in most domestic violence disputes, how many have no support, no shelters, are looked down upon in those situations, many times are seen beating men with closed fist punches to the face and kicks to the groin, but men can't do anything about it.
As I left I was sure that foundation was going to get tons of dollars. It's not necessarily a bad thing that someone wants to stop violence against someone, but it should be stopping violence against everyone.
Just so I didn't put my foot in my mouth, I looked the organization up. It's a rape crisis centre in Vancouver, BC, and it's actually called "women against violence against women". I wonder if they realize men get raped more than women? (including prison)
It's like MADD. Apparently father's don't care about drunk driving.
