Mourinho just explained it in the post match interview.

He has 3 designated Penalty takers: Pogba, Zlatan and Rooney.

Paul and Wayne have decided that Ibra is the first penalty taker. And whenever he doesn't want to (for some reason), they will take it.

So:

  1. Zlatan

  2. Pogba or Wazza

Interesting to see he lets the players (these 3) decide who will take them, considering they all want their goal record to improve. And notable that Mata or Martial isn't one of the options.

giving away the penalty's first choice when you are on the door of breaking the club goal record is really admirable.

Rooney, Zlatan and Pogba are proven penalty takers whilst Mata and Martial aren't so, it makes sense that these 3 were the ones chosen by Mou but it's actually pretty interesting that they get to choose who takes it themselves.

Mata can hit them. Id have him over Rooney in the pecking order. But Rooney has years and years if experience bagging them. Not the worst problem to have on a team.

Nah, not a drop Rooney shout. Just talking about pens. Mata has had some lasers for us when given the chance, where Rooney missed 3 in a row at one point recently. Not the strongest pk taker and he would probably admit that himself.
