There's players with more seniority in the team, Valencia being a clear example (as he played with the armband during preseason). Is it Rooney's choice?

Probably because he was the closest player to him when he was subbed, but he'd actually be my choice as the next long term captain. Maybe Zlatan for a season.

Blind has got a fantastic football brain. He does a fair bit of directing from the back as it is. He would get the armband regardless of whether Rooney was subbed in the 1st minute or the last minute.
