As the media and political worlds continue reacting to Donald Trump‘s campaign shake-up, a former employee for one of the mogul’s new hires is speaking out about how much racist rhetoric he casually throws out on a regular basis.

Kurt Bardella used to work under Stephen Bannon at Breitbart, where he served as the conservative website’s spokesman. Bardella walked away from the site in March as part of the staff protest that took place when Breitbart seemingly proved its allegiance to the Trump campaign by siding against their own reporter during the Corey Lewandowski–Michelle Fields saga.

Bardella spoke on ABC News’ Powerhouse Politics this week, where he described how Bannon would frequently rip on minorities, women, and immigrants during Breitbart editorial meetings.

“If anyone sat there and listened to that call, you’d think that you were attending a white supremacist rally,” said Bardella. “This is someone who has a very low moral compass, and the idea that this is the type of person that Donald Trump, as the Republican nominee, as president, would have closest to him is very disturbing.”

Bardella said that by bringing Bannon on board, the Trump campaign will have no chance of a disciplined pivot, and will most likely become even more negative, chaotic and divisive. Roger Stone sat opposite Bardella during the podcast, and he only had positive things to say about Bannon’s involvement.

Ever since Bannon was named as the Trump campaign chief this week, numerous conservatives, including former Breitbart staffers, have burned the mogul for handing the reigns to an ultra-right enabler with little political campaigning experience.

One of the most frequent of criticisms of Breitbart, as well as the reason why some Trump supporters are excited by Bannon, is that they favor a far-right perspective that occasionally intertwines with white supremacy and fringe conspiracy theories.
