Any good reasons you think we didn't go for Kante? (self.reddevils)

Kante beside Pogba would have been dandy. If Carrick is rested/injured we'll have to play a less defensive player in there with Pogs so might lose some of his attributes.

Only one I see is if we had Blind, Valencia, Rooney, Martial and Mata/Lingard all in the team at once along with Kante we'd have a small team.

Unfortunately you can't just buy every single top player in a given transfer window. We were focusing on securing Pogba, Chelsea focused on Kante.

See Jose's comments on what he felt we needed in our team. Pogba fits that mold and was more of a priority. Kante, while being an improvement for sure, doesn't fill the need for us that Pogba does.
