Valencia appreciation + third captain conundrum (self.reddevils)

We all know Carrick is the vice captain and Valencia was given the armband when neither Rooney or Carrick were unavailable. He seemed to be extremely proud of it too. So I was surprised Blind was given the armband today although Valencia and DDG were on the pitch as they are higher in seniority level. So there is no fixed third captain or was it just given to Blind today randomly for no specific reason ?

PS: Valencia has been hot consistently now through out the pre season and this game as well. He can defend attack, he's a work horse and is hardly injured. Damian will have to wait.

Don't think we have an official captaincy order. Haven't even heard Mou confirm Rooney as captain tbh. I'm sure once Rooney and Carrick are off the armband is just passed to any of the senior players it doesn't really affect anything.

Edit: Guessing I've been down voted for saying Mou hasn't talked about captaincy? If he has could someone link it to me rather than just downvote.

I didn't downvote you. But he did confirm Rooney was his captain. Quote: "But in my club we are not going to have that. He is the club captain, he is the manager's captain, he is the players' captain.

Okay thanks must have missed that. I mean it was pretty obvious it was Rooney but he has gone about talking about captains like LVG has where he very clearly stated who his first, second and third captains are. Like DP112 said there isn't any real order which is what I was getting at.

I didn't down vote you but I assume they did because you're saying he hasn't said who his captain is, he doesn't need to if he plans to keep Rooney.
