Yeah, Fellaini is playing well, sitting nicely in front of the front four. I feel he's a little too erratic though, like he might commit a silly foul. He needs to stay on his feet, use his size and strength to block players, which he has been doing. But one silly tackle could prove costly. I think he just needs to calm down a little, settle in to the game and play smart. Then again that's almost what he has been doing, just needs to settle down a little.

  • Martial making good solo runs

  • rooney looks a bit uncomfortable with the style of play going forward and is forcing the hollywoo pass. Also runs like he's waterlogged.

  • mata seems lost in this formation, at least defensively. (wrote this before the goal, still stand by it)

overall the game is hella tight and it'll take a long shot or an individual effort to break through bournemouth putting 10 behind the ball. I'd like to see mk come in for rooney ~55', I don't think he'd stop the momentum going forward as short as rooney has. Mata will still be needed offensively with his touch and ability to allow valencia to overlap while providing cutting passes to the middle.

    Rooney has been poor. But Zlatan dropping deep is not helping him. Fellaini has actually been quite good in front the back 4, giving them a lot of protection. Herrera hasn't done well to transition defense to attack. Look for Carrick to come on for him. Valencia has been our best player, up and down the field. Might see Mkhitaryan come on for Rooney if we need another goal.

    Bournemouth are sitting very deep. The pockets of space will open now that they have conceded. Impressed with the entire squad so far and their defensive capabilities. Fella and Ander have been good and will allow an easy partnership with Pogba. I think Mata will come off first followed by Martial. Excited to see the second half and hopefully grab a couple more.

    An okay performance. We've completely nullified them going forward, and for that Herrera and Fellaini deserve a lot of credit because they've given nothing away.

    Bailly looks immense and Blind has played well.

    Shaw looks rusty.

    Mata has been impressive with his movement.

    Ibra isn't seeing much of the ball but is holding it up well when he does.

    Rooney... I just don't understand what he brings to the team. He's a great goal scorer but we're not creating chanced for him and he isn't going to create many for himself. There have been a couple of counter attacks on which he had just completely stopped because he doesn't have the yard on their midfielders. I'd like to see Miki brought on in that role.

    I turn 21 today, and this time 10 years ago I would have been buzzing to watch Rooney as he was my idol. 10 years on, he still has his uses and moments but that 45 minutes exemplified everything so frustrating about him.

    I don't enjoy players becoming scapegoats with no justification but my word..

    His inability to play on the half turn is infuriating. He seems so scared to pick the ball up and drive forwards with it, or at least attempt a forwards pass. It's all backwards/sideways/diagonal.

    Perhaps this is what he's told to do but I can't imagine any manager would want such a lack of incision and risk from his forward. Maybe he's scared of his touch being bad so plays it as safe as possible, but it's such a shame to see what he's seemingly become.

    Valencia looks like a new player under Mou. He's taking players on, his crossed don't just beat the first man they're actually in dangerous areas. Hope he keeps this up so he and Darmian have a big competition for the spot.

    Rooney is so damn slow. Always takes too long looking for a Hollywood ball when a three yard pass would be far more useful.

    Fellaini has won a few tackles and headers but when he's on the ball he's been shocking. Carrick or Morgan would be a better bet.

    Herrera hasn't been great but he's started to improve as the half has gone on and is always looking forwards.

    Bailly is a savage and I love it. He's looked completely calm at all times and is destroying players in tackles. Looking good.

    Personally I'd like to bring off Rooney and fellaini and bring on Carrick/Morgan and Mkhi

    I really like Bailly, Our midfield has created nothing, I would bring on Carrick for Fellaini, Martial just can’t get going, I swear Rooney in the 10 killed every attack we had

    The local kiddie pool has more depth than our midfield right now. Seriously could use a substitution or two. Still not sure why miki isn't getting in?
