They copy ideas and life plans (get married, be subservient to women) from past eras when these things were (mildly) successful in the hopes that somehow they will produce the exact same results as they did in the past.

They have no clear understand as to why these things worked well in the past and without even questioning as to why they'll work well here.

In the end they just blindly imitate without even taking a minute to ask themselves "Why?".

I don't think that's right, and I think these men are the most likely group to understand where we're coming from, if they can be made to see that marriage and family no longer exist as socially or legally enforced institutions. I think many of them know exactly why marriage and family as a basic unit of civilization is successful. their failure is in believing that they can punish nonconforming men enough to magically cause women to make family-friendly choices. this is of course nonsense, but white-knighting is instinctive; not the result of a logical thought process.
