As a PS4 player and a dude who loves this game so far, I was hoping the PC version was going to be what I was playing, but with even better visuals.

No one should tell PC players to calm down (I understand this specific post is sarcastic) because no company should release something that doesn't work. I'm a pretty big Hello Games apologist, but I don't think anyone can really try and defend this PC release.

Sorry PC dudes, it's bullshit and I hope you either get a refund or a working game in short order.

I played it on PS4 and it looks a lot better on PC. I'm one of the lucky ones I guess, who can run the game on max settings 60fps. I have had no issues with it.

      I've got a HD7850 which is fairly similar to the PS4 in terms of graphics power. I set the game to 720p, Low everything, and I get about 45fps which is a little bit better than the 30fps of the PS4 version of the game.

      I can understand other people are upset with how the game runs or doesn't run, but for me personally I'm ok with it.

          Pretty much, they fucked up, they had time to be sure it would run smoothly on pc but somewhere along the line something got screwed up. I can understand the frustration pc players are feeling, all though I'm not really willing to call HG douchebags and assholes yet.

            I was planning on buying the game after heading home tonight. Found out people with my exact rig were fucked.

            If I dont buy the game today or tomorrow, and it's not looking likely right now, then I wont buy it ever. If you're game fails so hard that I'm not willing to buy it now, then it's very unlikely I'll ever be interested in coming back for it. Because in six months when the game is cheap, there's going to be another game. And that game will likely actually work. And I'll want to play it more than a six month old game that I avoided for good reasons.

            Money isn't the issue, my desire to play the game is. I have two weeks before the next big release I'm excited for and I wanted to play this one during that period. What are the odds that I'll have a gap in games I'm excited for during the next steam sale?

            If the game gets fixed by tomorrow afternoon I'm in. Otherwise, its just too little, too late.

            But hey, on a happy note; we got a new Deus Ex game coming, and after that the new path of exile expansion. Both of those are looking awesome. I'll just keep playing Anno and Overwatch until then.

                          It doesn't make sense to me. I always wait until after release to see if it's even something I'll be interested in. I like to watch streams and videos to get a feel for the game. I'm not really a fan of flushing my money down the drain.

                            As a PC player, I am extremely disappointed. Was going to get it for PC, but nope, forget that, I'll just go with the PS4 version.

                            Who knows, maybe they would eventually fix the the issues with the PC version, but I think they've shown they're either incompetent in that area, or simply don't care, or both. At the very least, PS4 has clearly taken precedence over the PC as far as Hello Games is concerned.

                            So yeah, I'll go with the version that A: actually works, and B: will probably receive more focus as far as the updates and patches go.

                              I liked BE. It wasn't great compared to 5, but I still put 150 or so hours into it (versus 600 for 5).

                              I loved the quest system, affinities and tech tree, it just lacked personality.

                                So let me get this straight, you are cancelling this because of stability issues, but you think CIV 6 is going to be better (at its launch). Do you no remember CIV 5 launch? Game slowed to a crawl once you reached like late renaissance / early industrial. Constant crashes. Only way to finish a game was to play on a small or tiny map. They improved this, but not in less than 12 hours (which is apparently how long you are giving NMS)

                                I am getting CIV 6, but am waiting at least a month after launch to do so.

                                Well when I got civ 5 the int computer I had was an old ass accounting computer or something like that and it was like 10 years old (in 2011) That computer could just barely handle civ 5 and when I got to the endgame it took like 5 minutes for each turn but I went through it. Civ 5 is my personal favorite game of all time so I don't care how civ 6 is I'm going to love it (hopefully).

                                its fine, CIV is a great series. I just found your comment ironic because CIV 5 had a ton of issues day 1. If I recall about a week later they had a hot fix which helped, it was about 45 days though until it was playable (still slow today late in game, but very playable).

                                  I have the PS4 version, and know how to control my own expectations, so I have enjoyed NMS...until I was stuck in a system with two planets and a moon and a ship I bought without a hyperdrive not knowing the preorder bonus eliminates getting that recipe.

                                  It is so frustrating. I like it, but then I feel like I wasted my time until they patch it as I sat last night in a space station hoping for a ship (even with less slots) that had a HD, but I apparently have bad RNG and got nothing.

                                  I feel even more terrible for those on PC, but at least some who used Steam can get refunds. I remember laughing at an IGN video maybe a year ago where Sean joked that Peter Molyneux was at the center of the universe, and now I am thinking he was being candid and not joking after all.

                                  I mean just think he has that recorded and archived as a folly to his own hubris. I feel bad for HG, and I know everyone is like, "feel bad for people that have our money?". I think after spending years on this project you must have people who work at HG who aren't becoming overnight millionaires and feel terrible as they're ridiculed and can only ride the storm out until they fix it, but suddenly your work environment probably feels much more intense to make amends, and not ruin your own resume if you get a job at another studio (because developers trade staff like baseball cards sometimes).

                                  Just a sad situation for us and those who I doubt woke up hoping the game was a technical failure.

                                  huh, almost every NPC ship I see has a hypedrive (never any fuel though), I bought a 23 slot ship, for 1.3 mil, that even included a hyperdrive upgrade (which I still dont have blueprint for)

                                            I'm with you on this, but I'm not going to get a refund, the game does work for me, apart from the crashing (happened once in 1 hour so far)

                                            But the game working isn't the reason for me not to get a refund, I want to play this game...and the devs will eventually fix the problems for sure

                                            I was expecting a horrible launch actually, lot of you are against this, but they are a small team, they dont have hundreds of people to test the game or hundreds of different PCs to optimize the game effectively...the launch of the game might have been rushed, that's true, they still need time to work on the it, quite a lot

                                              Well shit. I was having a blast on PS4, so I decided to go ahead and get it on PC so I can enjoy the boosts to graphics. But it sounds like I'd best stay on my PS4 for a week or so.

                                              I really love Hello Games and I can tell they're passionate about their project, so it's extremely disappointing to hear that they've achieved a dark knight level of flop on PC release. I hope they pull sales, fix it, apologize, and re-release the game. Or just patch it so 90% of the issues are fixed within the next 24-48 hours. Anything else would simply be inexcusable, especially if they want to maintain any kind of decent reputation. Because right now they're shitting the bed. Good luck HG, I hope you guys can turn this around!
