This was incredibly disappointing. I went in with low expectations after the console feedback and not even they were met.

The game refused to start at first and when I finally did get in it took about five or six minutes to work through all the settinsg since you have to hold click down for a moment before the setting changes. The a restart was required and I had to sit through the whole intro again. The intro is a nice start but needs to be sped up just a little for my taste. I was ready to get out there and explore for myself rather than the slow camera pan around a crater that was mushy textured.

Once I got control of my character I ran around and gathered up the iron to repair my scanner and actiavted it to find the rare material to fix the engine. I took off in the direction and noticed it was six minutes away. Six minutes of walking and jumping over the mushy textures. with little to see along the way. I get there and mine out the bottom of the giant pillar so that the rest of it just hangs freely in the sky and start walking back. As I get to my ship I notice that just around the corner from my ship was a rare material source the scanner hadn't picked up. So I ran all that way for nothing. I said whatever, excited to fginally have the chance to fly among the stars.

I hop in the ship fire up the engines, open the menu to check the controls and...... crash. I think to myself "Good thing I just got into my ship that's bound to be a save." Nope. The game saves when you get out of your ship. So I had lost all of my progress.

This is just my experience but it left a really bitter taste in my mouth. Especially for $60. Subnautica has more and runs fairly decent for only $20.
