Voice acting is considered to be an amazing line of work for those with vocal talent. Hearing people tell you 'oh mate, you should get into voice over', or 'man, you have a talent for voice acting' can be pretty amazing. So, why not make it a reality?
Auditions can sometimes lead to speaking roles, sound effects or even *shudder* singing. Whatever your talent though, bring it to /r/VoiceActing. Posts enter the sub constantly looking for creative people to become a part of their projects. Worried about not getting paid? Well, worry no more! /r/VoiceActing has a strict 'no free work' policy, because everyone deserves to have their talent compensated.
"But, but, I'm not good enough to be a voice actor!"
Oh really, my skeptical friend? If you believe that, then you're probably wrong, but need a little direction to push you forward. Post a demo reel to the sub and watch the critiques fly in! Remember, no actor ever got their roles by saying 'I'm not good enough.' They got their roles saying, 'I got this.' If you have questions related to getting started, set up an ask post. Let other members of the sub, professional or otherwise, get a couple words to the wise in. Eventually, they may be able to give you that slight push you need.
"Alright, I see where you're going with this, but I still need a little help. I feel like I sound flat/boring/monotonous/like I echo/what have you."
That's alright! /r/VoiceActing is loaded with tips and tricks to help improve the way you sound, and how to edit your recordings. Check the Hot section for info related to improving your craft, while popping into the New section to check for work. (Either that or vice versa, you can never tell with that sub nowadays.) The sidebar always has some useful links to check out as well.
No voice should ever be left hanging without first checking out /r/VoiceActing, so make sure to head on over to the sub and add yours to the mix!
