I started a new job recently and this girl who must be about 22 years old started at the same time I did. She's a quiet girl, doesn't wear a hijab or appear to be very religious, but I guess because of her quietness and the difference in culture (tho she was born in Canada) she's not really making friends here, which is fine, no judgement here, some people just want to work.
So I've been invited out a few times for drinks with some of the younger guys and girls at work, this being a few months back I wasn't drinking any alcohol at the time and I felt awkward going to a bar and being the only one not drinking. Thought I'd invite the new pakistani girl along, she's pretty after all, got a great little body too. I told her I don't drink and I know she doesn't so it would be good to have her along, and she says "Ohh I totally would but I'm busy, but next time for sure we can both be not drunk together :)"
So days and a couple weeks go by, she's just meandering around the store doing her job and stuff, but she starts getting REALLY close to me. Like her hair and body are brushing up against me a lot, and I'm getting turned on. This goes on for a couple of days and then I ask her out which she just politely says no to. No big deal, I'm kinda pissed because she was leading me on pretty bad, but I got over it quick and it's definitely not awkward between us.
Then enters this brown guy at work who does a different department from us. First time I ever spoke to the guy, me being the new guy, he says "Having a long day huh?", and I wasn't at all, I actually had no idea what he was talking about, I was just walking down an aisle on my way to do something. It was off-putting and a stupid, pretty rude thing for an adult to say, and I pretty much decided then and there that I don't want to be around this guy. Coworkers agreed with me that he's an asshole, so I haven't spoken to him since and don't need to, we barely reigster on eachothers radar.
That is until he starts dating the pakistani girl. I get it, she's more comfortable with a brown guy, and this guy isn't very good looking or anything and nobody seems to get along with her very well, so it is what it is and by this point months have passed and I don't care what she does.
She must have told him I asked her out tho, because this guy always has eyes on me now. Anytime we pass by, whether he's engaged in work or not, he's very aware of my presence, awkwardly so. In my opinion it's either that he's being defensive of his woman or continuing his behaviour as an asshole thinking he's rubbing it in. It is making me uncomfortable tho, and not because I'm jealous, but because it's awkward, and it's 100% because of him. Her and I are fine, she doesn't flirt anymore and I don't ask her out. I'm sure she understands I've moved on at this point.
