It seems like Donald Trump says something divisive, uninformed, or otherwise controversial almost daily or at least weekly. The number one rebuttal from Trump supporters seems to be, "But Hillary said this or Obama did that" usually referring to something already addressed or a straight conspiracy theory. Is this what's passing for accountability these days? Even if their accusations held any water, two wrongs now make a right?

The other big excuse is a flat denial that he did or said whatever he did or said. "I wasn't mocking a disabled man, I was impersonating someone begging forgiveness" or "I wasn't joking about assassination of Hillary, just telling people with guns to remember to vote".

Basically, he's invented a new type of political dog whistle, intended for people too stupid to understand dog-whistle references.
