They had my RMA for 2 weeks, didn't respond to a single email. Then sent it back and all they had done was update the bios (I alrady had the newest bios on the other bios switch setting).

Problem still persists. Never buying gigabyte again

I sent in my graphics card because one of the fans would rattle when it got to a certain speed, one whole month through the RMA process and it came back unfixed. Absolutely terrible support, avoiding Gigabyte with future purchases for this reason alone.

I mean, that difference is even apparent to me in the behavior of /u/EVGA_Erin compared to /u/gbt_van and /u/gbt_brian on this sub. And all of them should be looking at this: I will never buy from Gigabyte unless they make a complete 180-degree turn, and try hard to compete at something that EVGA is extraordinary at, customer service.

This is why all of my next gpu and possible motherboard purchases will always be from EVGA even if the price is more expensive. Great customer service in case of something that goes wrong is always worth the premium.

I usually buy msi. This has made.me confident in my decision to not go back to gigabyte even though I had a nice mobo from them.

All it takes is like 7 of us boycotting a single product from them to make them have a loss equivalent to a free 1080

Gigabyte loses a lot more customers when they read their awful customer service threads (failing to respond to RMA, not communicating, etc.). It's not difficult to provide good service to your companies. Heck, look at MSI and EVGA.

I used to have a Gigabyte made AMD card. It started failing so RMAed it. I was without a card during the RMA, so I ordered an EVGA card. I got back a "repaired" one a month later. I tested it and sold it on eBay. a Few months later I hear from the guy that bought it that it just totally died. He wasnt mad just letting me know. Sorry guy, so much for the repair.

P.S. I was totally honest in the listing that it was a RMA card.

2 non functional r9 270s out of the box, and an AMD motherboard that the box said was compatible with my FX CPU that melted and started to spark. Every time I contacted MSI they basically told me to kick rocks. Ended up dealing with microcenter directly after I recorded the convo and played it back for the manager. He was appalled.

MSi seems to have bad track records for QC though and there have been quite a few people with MSi cards here within the past month noting they can't even get above 2000MHz. I guess it's good that their customer service is decent but their QC perhaps is not.

EVGA isn't exactly the shining beacon of customer service either. I bought a GTX 660 from them right before the 7XX series released. Naturally I wanted to step up to the 760 for like $10 more. It took them nearly two months to contact me about the stepup (literally 3 days before my step-up availability expired) and by that point I just didn't care enough to do so.

That same 660 was replaced once as well and before I replaced it with my new 1070, it had started to cause some graphics card related blue screens on me.

OP is also exaggerating a bit about this as has been noted. Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming is the Facebook group and they never actually promised an Xtreme Gaming card. Just basically a secret card from Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming. If you wanted to use the other interpretation, Gigabyte could have sent him a 1070 Extreme Gaming instead of the 1080 G1 Gaming.

I was in the market for 2x waterforce 1080s when I first noticed this issue and was hoping /u/gbt_van would of done something by now or at least participated in a solution. I'm willing to bet his bosses told home to stop posting and hope this just dies. Well I know the company is missing $1200 in sales from me wouldn't be so far a stretch to think this whole issue is costing them over 100k in potential sales.

I know how to fix this. PCMR just needs a sticky thread that lists manufacturers that shouldn't be purchased from for any reason.

Lenovo for bios spyware, gigabyte for bad RMA response/shit customer service, etc.

That'll either get their attention or lose sales.

I loved Gigabyte products because I never had problems with them.... Now I know what company I won't be upgrading at Christmas with. Customer service is half the battle, and just because I haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with them, I don't ever want to now.

I honestly cannot believe this saga continues. I know the folks here have been speaking up and how they cannot respond in a timely manner with a proper response is poor management on top of poor management. I have used Gigabyte in the past, tried a few different other brands too, and it makes me very uneasy to think that these brands can get away with anything like this. It's unprofessional and I would make sure to file a claim with the BBB for improper business practices if you're in the US.

Theres plenty of other brands. I went with an asrock cuz it was cheaper and their customer service is decent. I would skip gigabyte until they sort this shit out. Otherwise if you have an issue you might be up shit creek.
