Once again, I admit I would lick his arse clean

I think you might have a problem.

For starters all transfers pre pogba were fantastic we can all agree. Ibra for FREE. plus the rest for absolute deals compared to what city have been spending. And of course the acquisition of Pogba, but most importantly how it went down. Announcing the deal at 130am England time or whatever it was was a stroke of genius. I wonder how much that simple decision made us in sales in the past 12 hours alone. And i now that pissed some of you locals off but, but you cant deny that was a savy move to generate WORLDWIDE hype and most importantly jersey sales. Moves like that are why our worldwide presence/power exceeds that of even Barca or Real. Last but not least the decision to dump LVG (who i think gave us an incredible foundation to move forward) and go with Mourinho was the first brush stroke of woodwards masterpiece. listening to interviews with Ibra and Pogba it is clear they came for a chance to play for him. He gives any player in the world confidence that if you come play for me, you will win trophies. So, three huzzahs for Ed Woodward. Well done.

As a PR guy, that 1:30 news drop also ensures that basically all the morning news the next day will be about Pogba. All the morning shows, all drive-time radio. Much better to drop something like that in the early morning, than at 9 or 10 when people are getting ready for bed.

I'm just glad we don't spend a shit ton of money on inconsistent youth like City do.

Still think Mourinho and Riaola had more to do with these transfers than Ed.

When he didn't sack LVG he got so much abuse on this site, sign a few nice players and you all think he is God again.

Genuinely have no idea what Woodward has done to deserve an appreciation thread. He's bought four players: one free agent, one on the final year of his contract, one who nobody had heard of prior to the summer window, and one for a world record fee.

He hasn't shown any form of talent when it comes to negotiating good transfer fees, and pretty much the entire foundation for this window was built in advance by Mourinho, who used his connection with Raiola to tap up players.

There is nothing that Woodward has done in the transfer market over the past three years that someone else couldn't have done.

Your first paragraph is a horrible over-simplification. What exactly would have satisfied you? Were you expecting a team in the Europe League to buy big-name players who were only 1-2 years into long contracts, for low transfer fees? Do I have that right? Jesus H Christ.

Seems that Woodward is damned either way. If we succeed in the transfer market it's nothing to do with Woodward, but if we fail then it's all his fault. Yes Mourinho was a big pull when it came to our transfer business this summer, but please don't take anything away from the individual who was the hub in the middle of all of this. You're assuming that he just turned up and everything fell into place automatically.

Say all you want about contracts and free agents, we just signed Ibrahimovic, Pogba and Mkhitaryan!

Yes, Mourinho was key in all of these transfers but lets remember he was brought in by Ed too

Plus new deals with Tag and Virgin Money!
