Predicted Mourinho lineup for this season? (self.reddevils)

With the new signings this summer for United, both player and managerial, what do people expect for potential lineups? I don't know Mourinho's tactics too well but I've gathered he is likely to use a 4-2-3-1. With Pogba signed today and after viewing the preseason games, here's my prediction.

I'm interested to hear others' takes on who Mourinho's starting 11 will be.

He's written centre forward next to Rooney's name but Zlatan's playing CF in his formation and Rooney's behind him playing in the hole.

Since its scattered for you, I guess you don't see the "(CF?)" is next to Rooney. So he's guessing/assuming Rooney would be a CF in the formation.

That would probably be the starting XI later on, but IMO Lingard and another midfielder (Fellaini/Herrera/Schneiderlin) will start before Mkhi and Pogba are integrated into the team.

Schneiderlin will start in my opinion. Carrick is too slow and doesn't have the legs to start anymore. Rooney could be replaced by Mata or even Miki, with Lingard on the wing instead, depending on his form. Mou definitely won't be afraid to bench him.

Id say same as you but I'd slot Schneiderlin into where Carrick is. Also eventually I see Rooney losing his position to Miki with either Rashford or Memphis slotting into the RW

We need what he offers in our current midfield. We need someone who can break up play and read the game defensively but also has the legs to harry and press for 90 minutes. Carrick does not have the legs, Ander and Pogba are both hardworking but ultimately more attacking players. It's about balance. Personally I think he's a perfect Mou player. He can be for us what Matic was for that title winning Chelsea side.

Schneiderlin has not shown he can do that for us yet at all. He needs to prove himself. Baffling why people are talking as though he's done it at the top level in title winning teams. He has yet to show he is capable of what you claim in a team wanting to challenge on all fronts.

I agree he hasn't been good enough for a title winning side. However we know he is capable of these things from his time with the Saints, and it's not too late for him to improve on that form or at least match that form.

Even last season when he wasn't that great, we conceded far fewer goals with him than without him. Why? Because even an average player in that position is better than none at all.

Yeah agreed but I think his game best suits the midfield we will have. Could be wrong though
