Politics are super polarizing at the moment, which has translated to media sources. This far it seems as though it's been mostly left-leaning outlets censoring stories, so obviously right wing sites are getting more attention than normal.

There's the Ferguson Riots which caused millions in damages and many hurt.

There's the Baltimore Riots in which 113 police officers were targeted and injured some being shot, as well as millions in damages.

There's a gigantic amount of more examples of them using their numbers to intimidate traffic into stopping, to prevent rallies of other organizations, to accuse falsely numerous people of "racism", and to fake a sense of legitimacy even through all this hate they are spewing.

Everything they are doing is by definition what a terrorist organization does albeit in a slightly different way.

Was it? I've heard it was started by coontown, or whiterights, or thedonald, or mods who were removed from other news subreddits, or a bunch of other things none of which seem to really fit. However it was made it doesn't really matter because every single other subreddit is hugely biased with leanings parallel to leftist policies so having a counter news sub with biased parallel right policies is important to have otherwise a huge population of Reddit starts to feel as if they aren't able to speak their own mind which only increases the likelihood of anger and hate as a response. What you do is take the average of the news from both sides and ignore the fuck out of it all because the world isn't really all that bad and that we really aren't in much danger at all. There are problems but there always will be problems because humans are problem solvers and without problems we get bored.

I'm pretty sure it was made in responses to /r/news censoring posts about the Orlando shooting which I agree is wrong you can't just silence peoples voices. Reddit is horrible on both sides the left is the worst of the left and the right is the worst of the right. I don't think Reddit will ever be able to have a discussion that is a middle ground peoples emotions just run way to high on these sort of things, and add to the fact you're hiding behind a computer screen it makes it easier to lash out. I agree with you though the world as a whole is better off then we have ever been the problem is with everyone having cameras at the ready on their phones were now exposed to these horrible acts. It's easier to put an image to it sure it's sad to hear someone was gunned down in the street, but it hits you much harder when you actually see this person killed. This makes it easier for the right and left to push their agendas by physically showing you what's happening. Do I have a solution for this? No, I don't and I don't think anyone does.
