He failed the medical, sorry lads.

Also he decided South London was more his style. I hope he likes Morley's.

1. How do you think this season will go?

Win the league is the main target of the season and I think we can manage it, it's not going to be easy but with the signings we have made its manageable.

2. Which player is going to be your star of the season and why?

Luke Shaw for me is going to be a vital part of the team someone we clearly missed last season due to the horrific injury. Going forward he is a real force and can surge past 2 or 3 players with ease and put a decent cross in or pick out a pass. Defending he seems solid enough but going forward is his strong point in my opinion.

3. How do you think the team will line up?

1) Title Challenge, definitely top 3.

2) Pogba. I think he's signed because he's been promised that the team and system will be built around him so that he can mount a Ballon D'or challenge within the next couple of seasons.

  1. Win the league and everything else (of course!).
  2. Zlatan. I think he'll be what RVP was for us in SAF's last season.
  3. DDG, Shaw, Bailly, Smalling, Valencia, Carrick, Pogba, Rooney, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Zlatan.

Carrick will be rotated (Schneiderlin) and we'll see lots of Lingard and Rashford coming off the bench. Expect Blind to step in defensively as well.

I think Pogba will have a bigger impact than Ibra tbh.

  1. I think we will have to be challenging for the title, bringing in Pogba, Zlatan and Mkhi without challenging for the title will be a failure. I don't expect us to win it this year but he will win it next year or the year after. We should qualify for the Champions League fairly easily. I don't care about the League Cup or Europa League, would love another FA Cup.

  2. Zlatan - he's probably going to be our top goalscorer and maybe top goalscorer in the league also. The unsung hero of the team is probably going to be Mata or Mkhitaryan, they'll be getting a load of assists from Zlatan and Martial (maybe Pogba too).

  3. Against Bournemouth or for the whole season? Also this is the team which Mou will play not one which I would want coughrooneycough Mou's team My team

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: The most important player in my opinion for this season. Having scored 11 and assisted 15 for BVB says a lot about his ability. I have feeling he will be our Özil. He is also really good with the ball at his feet and his passing vison is amazing. His best skill is his ability to run into the box. He hopefully will link up well with Rooney and Zlatan. They both lack pace and Mkhitaryan can drop deeper so they don’t have to. After gaining Pogba as a midfield engine it will also allow Mkhitaryan to become the drifter which makes him so lethal.

Highlights against Wigan

(I love reading the posts OP. Keep up the work OP)

How do you think this season will go?

Slow start with a few difficult wins while the team is gelling, particularly after the arrival of Pogba and how much that will completely change how we've been playing in the last years, to also add to integration of Zlatan, Mkhitaryan, and Bailly on the team and in English football. Will probably drop a few unexpected points during that period, but nothing major.

After the team is stable enough, I think we'll be consistent enough to keep a good fight for the title, and with the depth in the squad and the youth players coming through, I think we'll have good runs in the FA Cup and much better than our last ones in the League Cup. EL might give some players a good chance to show their worth as well.

Which player is going to be your star of the season and why?

Either Zlatan or Pogba, although I would mention Bailly as one to keep an eye out for in that category. Zlatan for his decisiveness in games, getting goals out of half chances, and Pogba, once again because of just how much different our midfield will play like with a player of his quality, and how much our offensive play in general will change with him on the team. If I had to pick one of the 2, I would say Pogba, because surely the spotlight will be on him because of the transfer fee and all of this transfer saga, but seeing as how Mourinho was desperate to work with him at Chelsea, and made him the number 1 target for midfield here as well, I think that in itself is seriously exciting about this transfer.

How do you think the team will line up?

De Gea; Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Shaw; Carrick - Pogba; Mkhitaryan - Rooney - Martial; Zlatan

I think we will win the league, Zlatan will score 20+ goals and we will line up like this: http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=by6sy6

  1. If I'm being realistic I think a solid 3rd place finish in the league with attractive football, and a good run in some of the cups (of course hoping for more, but the team needs to build chemistry between them and I'm cautiously optimistic)

  2. This is a hard one. I think Shaw will shine, and Bailly although he'll make a some mistakes will be a rock in defense. I don't think Pogba will be considered the biggest star this season just due to the expectations people have with his price tag, even though he'll vastly improve our midfield. If I were to put my money on one player it would be Mkhitaryan, his creativity and vision is something we have sorely missed. The big names we've gotten this summer will also mean teams can't just man-mark Martial to kill our attack, thus making it very hard to guess who our "star" will be this season.

  3. I think this will be our lineup this season.

[–]growlingprawn 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

  1. I believe we will finish first or second being challenged only by man city
  2. Luke shaw will definitely be the star, his overlapping runs will be the sauce of many goals for us
  3. DDG Valencia. Smalling. Blind. Shaw Pogba. Carrick Mickey. Rooney. Martial Zlatan

[–]Giordano_5Martial 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

  1. I think we will finish around third. A lot of people expect us to win the league which is possible but i think we will fall just short. Decent run in the cups.

  2. Bailly. A lot of people have been saying he is too raw and too young ect, but when has that ever held back anyone at Manchester United. If you're good enough you're old enough. He is already a physical beast and is very calm on the ball.

  1. I'm cautiously optimistic. I am wary of Mourinho, and, as excited as I was when he was announced, I realise that he has historically only managed a few years at top clubs. He also has a tendency to alienate the dressing room. This being said, he is a fantastic manager and he does tend to get instant success. I would put us at 2nd or 3rd this year, as I feel like one (or both) of City and Chelsea could give us a rub for our money.

  2. He's had a fairly quiet preseason, but I'm very much looking forward to seeing Mkhitaryan play frequently. He's a very exciting player, in the prime of his career, and I feel like when (not if) he hits form he will be scintillating to watch.

  3. If I'm honest, I think we'll line up like this, but I'd probably prefer us to line up like this. As much as I love him, I think Rooney's past it and shouldn't be starting every game just because he's our highest paid player.

How do you think this season will go?

I think the start of the season is key, Its going to take a while for the team to change its dynamic and learn the intricacies of Jose's plan. As Sir Alex always used to say "if we are around at Christmas". Jose has typically made every game a cup final, which means he gets out of the blocks strong and puts himself into a position where his team cant be caught. This does however burn out the team, he is going to show he has learnt lessons from last season.

Which player is going to be your star of the season and why?

Luke Shaw - He is incredible, in all honesty when he is fit and raring to go he brings another level to our attack while simultaniously providing both pace and bite to defence. When Shaw doesnt play we dont have another LB that likes to bomb passed Martial into the wide areas, this means we become very rigid and allows defenders to double up on Martial.

How do you think the team will line up?

This is how I think we will be lined up after a couple of months Blind will drop into the space between the centrebacks, Shaw and Valencia will push up as almost wingers and the front 4 will rotate and move inside.

I think the season will be quite a positive one for us. I'm cautiously optimistic with having Mourinho and our four new signings. If the players gel quick enough and everyone is motivated, I can definitely see us challenging, if not winning the title. We face stiff competition from City, Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester and Chelsea but I believe in our squad enough for them to go all the way.

I have a feeling Jesse Lingard will have a fantastic season at right wing or at attacking midfield. I don't think Rooney will hold down a starting position unfortunately so Mkhitaryan will probably start instead on the wing or at AM but I do think Lingard is gonna have a huge season and he's the perfect Mourinho player with his fantastic work rate.

In goals, it'll definitely be De Gea. Arguably the best keeper in the world right now. No way Romero or Johnstone is replacing him.

In defense, it'll probably end up being:

--Valencia--Bailly--Smalling--Shaw

That is a pacy and strong defense that can stop most attacking in the league. Valencia looks like the most Mourinho player as every game goes by so he's a shoe-in for the game against Bournemouth. Bailly and Blind will probably start against Bournemouth (because Smalling is suspended) but that is still a great defense, shown by Blind's fantastic positioning and reading of the game and Bailly's speed and strength, showing this by getting the MOTM in the Community Shield.

Shaw looks like a new signing and is just all round a fantastic athlete and player.

The midfield can change a lot over the coming season. My preferred midfield three is:

------Schneiderlin------Pogba------

------------------Lingard------------

I do think Mourinho would start Rooney at AM though.

For 89 million Pounds, you'd expect Pogba to start most matches so there's not much discussion there. I think Mourinho will start with Carrick and Pogba but will then see how that is not really a defensively stable midfield and hopefully pair Pogba with Schneiderlin then. Schneiderlin is more of a Box-to-Box DM (if that makes sense) but I can see Mou letting Pogba have the freedom rather than Schneiderlin.

My preferred front 3:

Mkhitaryan--Ibrahimovic--Martial

Lingard will probably start against Bournemouth with Mkhitaryan on the bench but the starting line-up looks pretty damn good on paper but we'll see how that translates onto the pitch. Hopefully it's positive!

How do you think this season will go?

I think we're definitely title contenders. Jose's instilling an underdog mentality within the squad to build a fighting spirit we've lacked the past three seasons, but he's also bringing in the proper talent to complement a legitimate title challenge. Bailly looks extremely promising given pre season performances (not a proper barometer but still something to go off nonetheless), while Mkhi and Zlatan have shown their class in their respective cameos. And ofc, that one French talent is coming back.

That being said, I think we'll achieve second place this season with many new players and manager, and City having a marginally better squad than we do at the moment.

Which player is going to be your star of the season and why?

Obviously hard to tell at this stage, with Martial not showing the same form and so many new signings but I'm going to go with the popular choice of Zlatan given his commanding ego and technical prowess despite an age that indicates he should be declining. But being the physical freak of nature he is, I expect him to be our main impetus for a title challenge.

How do you think the team will line up?

I don't see Rooney keeping his starting place, and Mkhi has looked best as a CAM. Jesse will push on, and given his workrate may very well become a Mourinho favorite.

1. How do you think this season will go?

I think it will take a while for the team to flush out LVG's style of play and to implement Jose's. We have an excellent squad with decent depth so I can see us finishing anywhere in the top 3. I'm hoping for a good run in the domestic competitions, but I don't see us retaining the FA Cup. Also don't think Jose will bother too much with the Europa League so I think we'll get knocked out in the quarters of that competition.

2. Which player is going to be your star of the season and why?

For me, it has to be Paul Pogba. The outrageous fee we paid for him will look like nothing come the end of the seaon, I think he's going to absolutely shine in our midfield. He's a player who has nearly everything in his game; size, strength, mobility, speed, powerful shooting and precision passing.
