Hi all,

I know this isn't the Paul Pogba confirmation that everyone is waiting for but I hope I can bring everyone's attention for a couple of minutes to this.

United Rant is a Manchester United editorial website since 2004. Since August 15th 2009 it has also had it's own podcast - the Rant cast. Some of you may be aware of it, some not. For my money it is the best United podcast out there. Ran by two fans Ed and Paul. The former somewhat cynical but a realist and the latter an eternal optimist.

Personally, as a fan who lives approximately 188 miles (according to google maps anyway) from OT it has always been difficult for myself to feel part of the United community and have a sense of place or involvement within it. Sure I've had friends who are United fans throughout my lifetime but they have come and gone. But searching through the Apple Podcast app in 2012 that has all changed thanks to this wonderful weekly show.

This show has largely relied on donations from fans through a tip jar system to keep it going and also help their friend (a professional producer) who edits the show.

However on August 1st 2016 the Rant Cast/United Rant set up their own Patreon. What is Patreon? Well Patreon is a system which allows the fans of the show to personally contribute monthly to the podcast and allow them to directly help the production of current and future content. Not to mention also allow them to create events and one off limited merchandise.

Also this allows the creators to keep the content of the show the same, and not change it to suit potential advertisers/fill show time with advertisements.

At the time of writing the Patreon has 295 backers and has reached it's top goal but let's not stop there. If you have any interest then I urge you to check out this Podcast at least, which can be found on all major podcast apps (that I'm aware). Or even go the step further and check out their patreon to ensure that not only this excellent podcast keeps being made but that the people involved in it can be paid for doing so.
