.. he probably would have left last summer to never return.

Would have got fed up with the Moyes/LVG clusterfuck. So we'd have gotten a massive fee but no potential ballon dor winner entering his prime. So can the media calm down please. Fergie knew what he was doing.

No need to deny Fergie fucked up massively there, but I do agree that bringing him back is the right decision.

I'm just slightly worried he might do a Di Maria (hopefully I'm wrong). Hopefully his past history with us and connections with some of the players will not make him a snek.

And who the hell knows what LVG would have done with him. Probably shackle him at DM. Or RCM in a diamond. Or SS in the vaunted 3-5-2.

I agree with this. Instead of having him in his prime we'd have developed him and eventually lost him. I still feel like Real or Barca will try to buy him in a few years.

The difference though is he would have solved most of midfield problems and we might have not dipped as much

De Gea wanted to leave and that would've been depressing on its own. Let's just be thankful Mourinho is manager now. No way Ibra or Pogba would join if LVG was still in charge.

Another point I don't see many people talking about is the fact that Pogba wouldn't be the same player if he had stayed. Although it has cost us, I doubt he would be as technically/tactically solid. His time at Juve definitely gave him some different edges he might not have developed (or at least developed differently) staying in Manchester.
