I'm excited with Bailly's response to getting beaten by Vardy early on, he's stepped up to the challenge.

Said this in the match thread but I feel like he's played well for the little he's had. Physical, breaking up play, receiving passes to distribute. The biggest issue is Rooney isn't giving him anything to work with, plus the Martial+Shaw overlap isn't there yet. If we get Mkhi on the pitch with Martial+Shaw playing better, Ibra will get chances.

Best 3 United players have been Shaw, Bailly and Fellaini for me. All defensively great so far. Lingard right up there too after that stunning goal.

On the negative side, Martial, Ibra, and Rooney have been pretty lackluster. Ibra and Martial getting in each other's positions too often, but Rooney's first touch is absolutely useless.

And as for a side not, this is another game to show why Mourinho is desperate for that midfield player, whether it was Pogba or Renato Sanches. Carrick and Fellaini have been good defensively but when it comes to carrying the ball forward we don't have any midfielder with that set of skills. Even Herrera doesn't play like that, he prefers the short passing game too. Because of that, Rooney and Ibra have to drop far too deep far too often to get any bits of service. Can't wait to see what this team will look like with Pogba.

Seems like you're the only person on the sub saying Rooney has played well, I think he's been garbage. Strikers like Ibra need service or at least a little space to receive passes up front, and Rooney should be the one creating that. Plus Martial has been invisible on the left which certainly doesn't help.

Ibra has been dropping as deep or deeper than Rooney, allowed two shots on target from corners with bad guarding at the front post, was dispossessed in midfield twice while attempting to hold up play (in the center circle mind you) I'm not saying Rooney is playing out of his mind but Zlatan has been poor
